Great to be with tonight for their “Getting To Know Your Candidates Event”. Thank you to everyone who came out to hear more about my platform, as well as the amazing Breanna Lafontaine. 🚫 Friendly reminder of what we are asking for: Coming back to the bargaining table and agreeing to a contract that respects students and educators.

Investing $500,000 in educators rather than in lawyers and consultants.

Agreeing to a true 6% salary increase for 2023/24, so educators can afford to live in our community.

Contributing $100/month toward family healthcare. This would make a huge difference for educators, who are currently paying out of pocket.

Students: you mean the world to us. We will miss being in the classroom with you but please under we believe what we are doing will help guarantee a brighter future for you too. ❤️

1️⃣ Day for the board to change routes. Why does the board feel it’s okay to approve MORE than $500,000 for substitute coverage during a strike but can’t spend LESS than $500,000 to AVOID a strike?

Also…”it’s in the budget”…what budget? With what budget process? WHEN was the budget written to include this? And how can the board justify approving this spending without any more information than “it’s in the budget”?

You don’t have to be a math teacher to know the math ain’t mathing.
