A post script from that letter by General Lossberg dated May 31, 1778:

P.S.
I suppose that General von Bose has told High Highness the Landgrave of the incident about the two officers. That regiment is badly off, and it only has one captain, namely Vogt. Captain Mondorf was transfered to the Lossberg Regiment, Captain Münchausen is absent, and Captain Holefield has been ill since last autumn, and nothing can help him but his discharge he requested. Thus, Captain Vogt will have to assume command as soon as he gets back from special detail.
Both letters Your Honor sent me (of May 2 and 31) I had the honor of receiving in good order. My sincerest gratitude for the news imparted to me therein and for the Special Report which I received simultaneously. The affair about Ensign von Bilsingsleben of the Landgrave Regiment has been extremely embarassing to His Highness the Landgrave, who has seen fit to give him his leave (as was suggested in General von Bose's report). Everything will continue as usual, as several officers in that regiment were promoted to captain recently.
Yours,
L
