🇺🇸 NATIONAL FIRST-PLACE WINNER 🇺🇸

The Grovetown High School JROTC Warrior Battalion proudly congratulates Cadet Madden McNatt for earning FIRST PLACE in the prestigious Military Order of the World Wars (M.O.W.W.) Phoenician Essay Contest and receiving a $4,000 national scholarship award!

Madden competed against students from 32 chapters across the United States and territories in this highly competitive national contest focused on patriotism, civic virtue, constitutional understanding, and leadership.

This year’s essay topic asked:“With perceived divisiveness in the United States, give two ways we can become ‘a more perfect Union’ as stated in the Preamble to the Constitution.”

In his exceptional essay, “Knowledge, Service, and the Renewal of the Republic,” Madden argued that civic education and shared service are the keys to preserving unity and freedom within America. His writing demonstrated extraordinary maturity, historical understanding, leadership, and patriotism.

Winning FIRST PLACE at the national level and earning a $4,000 scholarship is an incredible accomplishment and a true reflection of Madden’s discipline, intellect, work ethic, and character.

His achievement was also recognized by The Augusta Chronicle.

The Grovetown High School JROTC Warrior Battalion gathered for our Annual Awards Ceremony on May 5th, and it was a night for the history books! From region-dominating performances to top national rankings, our cadets have proven they can compete with anyone in the nation.

We were honored to have distinguished guests call this "the best ceremony" they’ve ever attended.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:

Dynamic Performances: From the Color Guard to a special exhibition by Cadets Warner, Brown, and Pichardo, and dual female performance by Cadets Gantt and Hariston.

𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: We took a moment to surprise Ms. Washington and Ms. Warner with the Warrior Coin of Excellence and flowers for their unwavering support.

𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬: In a surprise twist not listed in the program, we awarded two life-changing scholarships:

𝐂𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐊𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 – Received the $1,000 Fort Gordon Ordnance Corps Association Scholarship.

𝐂𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐁𝐢𝐲𝐨 – Received the $2,000 Robert P. Beierschmitt Scholarship.

The Passing of the Torch: We celebrated our outgoing commander, Alyssa Lee, and conducted a formal Change of Command to usher in our new leadership, Noah Brown.

To our graduating seniors: you’ve left a legacy. To our incoming leaders: it’s time to elevate!

From the first time they donned the uniform to this final march, these seniors have defined what it means to lead. Today, we celebrate a group that hasn’t just met the standard, they’ve become it.

Watching this video, you see more than just students; you see the future architects of our world.

Their paths are as diverse as their talents:

• To the Colors: Future USA Officers and those enlisting in the Army, Air Force, and Navy. Your commitment to service is our greatest pride. 🇺🇸

• To the Professions: Our future leaders in Finance, Engineering, Nursing, Political Science, and Pre-Law.

• To the Builders: The experts heading into Contracting and Construction, ready to shape the physical world.

JROTC is about more than drills and ceremonies. It’s about building the tools for life:

🔥 WARRIOR PRIDE ON FULL DISPLAY! 🔥

The long drill season has come to an incredible close—and our GTHS JROTC Warriors Drill Team finished STRONG on the national stage!

At the JROTC National Drill Competition in Daytona Beach, FL, our cadets stood tall among 85 schools from across the nation—including teams from Hawaii and Guam—and a total of 107 teams competing.

💥 Cadet Captain Noah Brown and Cadet Sergeant Jaidev Pichardo delivered an unforgettable performance in the Duo Armed Exhibition, earning an outstanding 5th place overall in the nation!
You didn’t just compete—you set the standard. Take a bow, gentlemen!

💥 Our phenomenal young ladies demonstrated discipline, unity, and precision, earning 7th place in Unarmed Platoon Regulation—and placing higher than any other school in Georgia in the unarmed division!

This team represents resilience, excellence, and what it truly means to be a Warrior. Countless hours of hard work and commitment led to this moment—and they delivered.

Grovetown High School JROTC Drill Team just made HISTORY!

On March 28, 2026, our cadets competed against 73 schools at the Georgia State Drill Competition and delivered an incredible performance:

🔥 Top 5 finishes in 7 out of 10 events
🥇 STATE CHAMPIONS – Female Armed and Unarmed Platoon Categories

This team represents discipline, precision, teamwork, and relentless dedication. Every step, every movement, and every command reflects hours of hard work and a commitment to excellence.

🏆 HISTORY MADE: WARRIOR BATTALION TAKES THE TITLE! 🏆

Big news, Warrior Nation! Our Grovetown High School JROTC just reached a massive milestone. On Friday, March 27, our cadets competed in the inaugural Major Stephen V. Long – "Winning Matters" Competition at Fort Gordon, and we are officially your FIRST-EVER CHAMPIONS! 🥇

Our team went head-to-head against eight other schools and proved that preparation and character truly set leaders apart. They were tested in everything from functional fitness and marksmanship to a high-pressure "mystery event."

Today was special ❤️

As their Senior Army Instructor I see these young ladies every day striving to grow lead and become the best version of themselves. So today I wanted to make sure not one of them walked through Valentine’s Day unnoticed.

I stopped by the store picked up three dozen red roses and a few cards and gave each of my JROTC cadets a small gift just a simple reminder that they are valued respected and appreciated.

The gratitude in their voices the smiles the light in their eyes priceless.

It was not about the roses. It was about affirmation. It was about letting them know they matter. That they are seen. That they are worthy of kindness and respect not just today but every day.

Sometimes leadership looks like strategy and standards.

Sometimes it looks like discipline and accountability.

And sometimes it looks like a rose and a reminder that you care.

Moments like this fill my heart 🌹
