Parents and guardians of GES students!

Did you know you can help support your child's reading by monitoring their progress in Accelerated Reader?

Simply visit the attached link, then use your child's username and password to log in.

From there you can choose to receive email updates, check your student's progress, and even help them find books.

For more detailed information, or for assistance in learning how best to use the program and to understand how it all really works, feel free to reach out. We want to partner with you as you support your child in growing their ability to read!

Started, and finished, this Newbery Medal winner yesterday evening. Once I got into it, I just didn't want to put it down.

"Halmoni glances over at Sam, then at me, her eyes serious. 'When I very little, before my mom leave, she tell me something important. She say, Ae-Cha, learn this: Everybody have good and bad in them. But sometimes they so focused on sad, scary stories in life that they forget the good. When that happen, you don't tell them they are bad. That only make it worse. You remind them of the good.'"

An excellent read for 5th and up (and perhaps a mature 4th grader)

Mr. Gentry 🙂

What are your kids reading right now?

I'm digging The Eyes & the Impossible by Dave Eggers, a recent Newbery Medal winner. Can't wait to get back into my reading chair and see what's going to happen!

Mr. Gentry :)

Today, we wrapped up the week with Game Day! Thank you to the parents who participated and helped make the start of our summer program a success! And thank you to our volunteers for all your support!
