In case you couldn't make it, here's a recap of our 9/26/18 chapter meeting:
IJM recently freed 14 men working and being abused on a ginger farm. These men were separated from their families for years and forced to work on this farm. On September 7, they were freed by IJM and the local Indian government.

What is forced labor?
It is heavily tied to money. Employers will lure the poor with promises of good jobs and pay. They will then manipulate those who believed them. Often, they place people in 'debt bo***ge'. The owner may charge them for food, housing, etc. to keep them in debt. Many branches of law enforcement are corrupt, and will not step in to help these cases.
What is IJM doing? They are identifying problems, working with 'good cops' to perform rescue missions, bringing justice, and helping victims recover from trauma.
Gowri's story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZT-CqkPnzw
God is with these people. He is watching over those currently bound by forced labor, and because of this we have HOPE. Our God is a God of justice, mercy, and love. He will use us to bring peace to the world.
They suffered months of vicious beatings, starvation and isolation.
