Sewell argues that believers cannot afford to leave the direction of the nation to other voting blocs. His core message is straightforward: if Christians want their values represented in government, they must show up and vote.

He pointed to high participation rates among Arab American voters as an example of how consistent civic engagement can produce real political influence. Sewell challenged churches to actively encourage their members to participate in elections and vote according to their convictions.

He also urged pastors to address political and religious ideas from the pulpit when those ideas conflict with Christian teaching.
