I wanted to take the time to dedicate a post to sweet Ellie Rae who crossed the rainbow bridge a little over a month ago.
I met Ellie before I officially became a dogsitter and she was truly one of the best dogs I’ve ever had the pleasure of being around. She was off leash trained, sweet, gentle with her siblings, protective, and the epitome of a loyal dog.
Since the day they had to say their goodbyes, I told Haley that Ellie waited for them.
Hearing the news was heartbreaking, and knowing I was with her just hours before made the ache a little deeper. While we were unaware of what the day would turn into, the weekend was filled with belly rubs, snacks and treats, and each other’s company. I did feel comfort in knowing she waited to let go surrounded by the people who loved her most.
You can never truly prepare yourself for the day when it comes. However, everyone who loved Ellie can find peace in how loved and spoiled she was in this life.
Thank you to Todd and Haley for committing to what it took to raise a puppy into the loyal companion she was, and loving her beyond measure.
Rest easy our belly rub queen 💗🐾
