Our performance company, Dancimation just returned from an unforgettable weekend at the NASCAR Firekeeper's Casino 400, and what a day it was! Our dancers lit up the stage with a dynamic performance that had the crowd cheering from start to finish. Their energy, precision, and passion truly left a mark on everyone who watched. After the show, we were able to stay and enjoy the race — the perfect ending to an already incredible experience. With sunny skies, great company, and the roar of the track around us, it was a beautiful day to celebrate our dancers and the hard work they put into every performance.

It is hard to believe how quickly 40 years have passed. On Saturday, we celebrated our 40th annual Spring recital, and my heart is full as I reflect on what a beautiful day it was. I was deeply moved by the incredible support from our parent volunteers, backstage staff, and dancers who so lovingly encouraged and helped one another. Our studio has always been more than just a place to learn dance—it is a family and a community that lifts up every dancer, from our youngest to our oldest. It reminds me that dance teaches so much more than steps; it teaches kindness, connection, and the importance of supporting each other. Every dancer poured their heart onto the stage, and every performance was something special. It was especially meaningful to revisit many of my favorite dances from the past 40 years and to see alumni dancers return to perform. I am so very proud of each and every dancer, and so grateful to everyone who helped make this recital such a memorable celebration. I cannot wait to see all of you in classes this summer and in the fall, and I am already excitedly dreaming about what our 41st recital will bring.

Here are a couple of reminders from the newsletter.
Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Greenville High School Arrive at 1-1:30 p.m. Recital Begins Promptly at 2:00 p.m.
For the show students need to be checked in by 1:30 p.m. at the High School. The show will begin promptly at 2 p.m. and is expected to last approximately 3 hours. The day of recital the door to the Lobby will open at 1 p.m. so you may browse through the group pictures and items displayed, however NO ONE, other than MDSD staff, will be allowed in the auditorium until 1:30 p.m. to be seated.
When you arrive for the show, dancers must register and receive their backstage passes. Dancers MUST wear their pass at all times, except when they are on stage. Included in your packet are your programs, a limited number of additional printed programs are available as well as a downloadable version. The QR code to the digital program is on your packet envelope. All dancers will need to report back to the green room (holding area) and MUST remain back there the entire show. One Parent or Guardian will be expected to sign their child in and out of the green room, The doors will be locked to the hallway once the show starts and no one other than Miss Dee's Staff will have access to the dancers. Pre-school students will be performing both their dances in the first half of the show and then can be picked up at intermission after their curtain call and awards ceremony. We highly encourage everyone to stay and watch the rest of the entire show. At the end of the show there will be a curtain call/awards ceremony for all the rest of the dancers. At the conclusion of the show, the non-pre-school dancers can be picked up by the same parent that signed them in after the show in the dancer’s waiting area (Green room). Please form a single line in the hallway outside the room and your child will be called to meet you at the door.
Please come dressed and ready with make-up and hair done as described for Dress Rehearsal.

It is unfortunate that misinformation can spread so easily, and I want to address recent concerns directly and transparently. I have been in business for 40 years, and the safety of our students and teaching staff has always been my highest priority.
To be clear, no one has ever been harmed at our dance studio. Our facility is equipped with security cameras that monitor classrooms as well as all entrances and exits to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
Additionally, the Masons no longer own or occupy the space above the studio. That area has been vacant for nearly a year and a half, and the building is no longer under their ownership.
It is deeply troubling that anyone would suggest otherwise. I have dedicated my life to teaching dancers and serving as a strong female business leader in our community, and I remain committed to maintaining a safe, positive, and professional environment for all.
