Our Medical Detectives in Project Lead The Way with Dr. Strickland have completed their first dissection of the year—a cow eye! 🐮👁️ Students had the opportunity to closely examine the anatomy of a cow eye and compare its structures to those of the human eye.

This work is definitely not for the faint of heart! 🧪

Experiences like these show the power of our Related Arts classes. Students are building knowledge and skills that will support their success in core science classes while gaining exposure to the hands-on work and critical thinking required in real-world professions! 🔬

6th graders in Ms. Winningham’s class are doing math on mats today! 🧮✨

They’re doing more than just solving problems like mathematicians—they’re thinking, writing, and communicating like mathematicians, too! 📝🧠

As students work through each problem, they’re able to explain their thinking, justify their strategies, and show how they arrived at their answers. It’s not just about getting the right answer—it’s about making their mathematical thinking visible! 👏

We kicked off our first Faculty Huddle this afternoon with some gifts for our teachers because we made it through the first month of school! 🎉🙌

A huge thank you to Woodside Church of God for donating school supplies and to Nothing Bundt Cakes for sending some extra sweetness and love our way! 🧡🍰

We are so grateful for a community that continues to support and celebrate our incredible teachers. One month down—many more great things ahead! 🦁

MAKE A DIFFERENCE. BECOME A LAKEVIEW MENTOR! 🦁

At Lakeview Middle School, we believe that every student deserves someone in their corner—someone who listens, encourages, supports, and reminds them that they are capable of great things.

We are looking for caring community members who are willing to volunteer as mentors for our Lakeview students! Your time, encouragement, and presence can make a lasting difference in a young person’s life. Sometimes, simply having a trusted adult who believes in you is exactly what a student needs.

📝 How to Sign Up:

Step 1: Scan the QR code to visit the website and apply.

Step 2: Review the required documents, watch the informational video, and complete the application.
➡️ Select “Volunteer II” when applying. A background check will be conducted for Volunteer II applicants.

Step 3: Once you are approved, you will receive an email. Please allow up to two weeks for the approval process.

📌 Important: Level 2 volunteers must sign in each time they volunteer at Lakeview or participate in a field trip. Volunteers must also present a valid I.D. in the front office.

If you’re ready to invest in the lives of our Lions and help our students grow, we would love to have you join our mentoring team! 💙🧡

Our 6th grade Lions participated in a gamified Library Orientation last week.📚 Students collaborated with teammates to “Spin to Win” using a prize wheel and a list of challenges and tasks to complete in order to earn points and learn more about all of what the library has to offer!🏆🥳

The team with the highest points at the end, were dubbed the “Lion Library Champions”! 🥇🦁

Bonus! Students found some AMAZING books to check out! We loved seeing students get excited about reading!! Let’s keep the momentum going and continue encouraging reading at school and home because readers are leaders! 💙📚

Our 8th graders are thrilled to attend Greenville Triumph STEM Day on September 16th! This is such an incredible opportunity for our students to step outside the classroom, explore STEM exhibits, discover college and career pathways, and experience a live professional soccer match—all while learning and having fun! 🔬🎓⚽

We are especially grateful for the incredible partnership between Lakeview Middle School, GEAR UP South Carolina, and Greenville Triumph SC. 💙

Partnerships like this are what make a difference for our students. We are incredibly thankful to organizations that believe in our students, invest in their futures, and create meaningful experiences that connect what they learn in the classroom to the possibilities that await them beyond middle school.

We can't wait to represent Lakeview and make some memories! 🦁

Ms. Arrowood’s 8th grade science students put their skills to the test with a hands-on lab exploring simple circuits! 💡 Students worked together to build circuits, investigate how electricity flows, and discover what it takes to light up a bulb.

We love seeing our students learning by doing, collaborating, and thinking like scientists! 🧑‍🔬
