In 1914, East Carolina Teacher Training School (which later was renamed East Carolina University) opened a laboratory school in collaboration with Greenville Graded Schools (which is now a part of Pitt County Public Schools). Today, our scholars enjoyed a day full of fun, games, and treats! It was a wonderful opportunity to relax, recharge, and celebrate all of their hard work. We are now fully charged and ready to do well on our EOGs. We know our scholars will shine and show all they have learned this year! 💙📖

Our scholars had the opportunity to visit Joyner Library today, and they were so excited to see all of the cool new things at the TRC Center! They explored the amazing study areas, saw the cannon, and even had an opportunity to explore coding.
One of the highlights of the day was receiving books with blank pages… because we are creating future Pirate Authors! 📚🏴‍☠️✍🏽

Today our scholars had the opportunity to watch the hooding ceremony for Dr. Cole. Although she graduated on Friday, our scholars were busy hard at work, so today we took time to celebrate her amazing accomplishment. We enjoyed cupcakes, lots of treats, and shared in the excitement of this special moment.
Congratulations, Dr. Cole, on your huge accomplishment! We are so proud of you and wish you continued success on your journey.

🎉🍎 It’s Day 5 of Teacher Appreciation Week at the ECU Community School! 🍎🎉
Today our amazing teachers were treated to one hour off campus to enjoy lunch or simply take a well-deserved break! 💙
A huge thank you to our neighbors at South Greenville Elementary for sharing delicious Nothing Bundt Cakes with our staff. Ms. Hardy also helped make the day extra special by creating delicious slushies and adorable custom cups for everyone to enjoy! 🧁🥤
Our scholars spread kindness throughout the building by passing out roses and keychains filled with special messages to every staff member. 🌹🔑
The fun continued as scholars excitedly discovered the pet names of Ms. James, Ms. Hardy, Ms. Hall, and Mrs. Smith during today’s trivia activities! 🐾
Congratulations to the scholars who correctly guessed that Ms. Jones drove a 1994 Nissan Sentra and Dr. Pretlow drove a 1989 Honda Prelude! 🚗👏 Prizes were awarded to our winning scholars.
What an incredible week celebrating the heart of our school — our teachers and staff! 💛

🍦🍪 It was Day 4 of Teacher Appreciation Week, and our amazing staff was treated to a delicious Ice Cream Sundae & Cookie Bar along with an incredible lunch from Al Suggs Grilling! 🍔🔥
We also celebrated our scholars who correctly guessed our staff’s favorite restaurant during today’s trivia challenge! 🎉👏
The fun isn’t over yet—come back tomorrow for our next trivia winner as scholars try to match staff members with their pets’ names! 🐶🐱🐾

It’s Day 2 of Teacher Appreciation Week, and as we all know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
Today, our amazing teachers enjoyed a delicious breakfast from Peaden’s Grill—a great way to start the morning!

Today we kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week in a BIG way at ECU Community School!
Our amazing staff enjoyed delicious treats from the Kindness Cart, bringing smiles all around. We also spread the joy by sharing goodies with our neighbors at South Greenville Elementary
Our scholars had so much fun playing “Guess the Staff Member”—today’s clue: Whose first job was at McDonald’s? 🍟👀 There were lots of laughs and even a few surprises!
We’re excited to celebrate our incredible staff all week long and learn fun new things about the people who make our school so special every single day.
