The Summer is flying by and it’s been nearly three months since our last get-together.

I have received a request to begin planning the next Happy Hour. Ideally, I think that we should be looking at dates after Summer Vacations and before the Holiday Season. Are any of our out-of-towners planning any weekend visits. We have typically met Fridays for Happy Hours.

Of course, these aren’t hard/fast dates. If someone wants to meet sooner, we could do that.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to our classmate, Robin Shaffer Farruggia.

Robin’s husband, Doug, passed suddenly on Thursday, July 2nd in California where they have made their home.

Services for Doug will be in California on July 15. Our hearts and our thoughts are with Robin. (Jim Saunders)

Booked for 5:00 Friday, May 15 (Sunset Cafe, Greensburg)

Before I make plans for a Friday at Sunset Cafe in Greensburg, I just want to confirm that everyone who plans to come can navigate stairs. We had the upstairs room last time, which was a hit. But, I don’t want to exclude anyone, so if anyone cannot do stairs, please let us know. You can Private message me. I’m thinking maybe between mid April and mid-May, but could do later if it fits better for more of us.

Coach Kalp has passed. I never had him for class, but he treated me well when I was a statistician for the basketball team our sophomore year. Good man. (Jim Saunders)

Softball coaching legend Bob Kalp, who served as Hempfield's head coach for 25 seasons, sadly has passed away. He helped lead the Spartans to 7 WPIAL titles, 4 state titles and over 400 wins.

Rest in peace, Coach Kalp. Your legacy will be felt for generations. 💙🥎
