Before tonight ends I would like to say Happy 1st Heavenly Passing of my Father n Law(Pops) Shaun McKinley Jordan. U are truly missed by all and just know that u are pain free and smiling upon ur Love One’s and u will never be forgotten. I will never forget that call on the morning on this day a yr ago that I received about ur passing and believed me that was one sad day being it was a day after celebrating my oldest Son Darius Bday! I can reflect on the day in 2010 since I met u at Aunt Michelle Barkins Apt in Roxboro Nc and meeting back up with u again when I came to Caval on Kerr Dr to see Maurice and it was on from then. We had a lot of good times eating meals,watching tv,singing and dancing to the good music,(Colling Water) (Pressure) (The Water Go-Go) the corny jokes u told us, the down times when u we’re hospitalized and fighting to return home to us from having Covid-19. I also seen u suffering a lot at home but was trying to do ur best as getting well to return to ur normal self. It was hard seeing u like that but u never gave up sitting in ur comfort zone watching ur tv shows and movies that entertain u the most besides plucking Mom nerves lol but that was our secret!! I’m closing for now but want to send this message to Heaven I will always carry apart of u until we meet again ‘POPS’ We Love U and continue to S.I.P…….LLPOPS AKA SHAUN

Although being four days younger, Gladys Knight calls Patti LaBelle her little sister. The two have been close friends for over six decades.

Knight was honored at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2022, and her close friend, LaBelle, was there to pay tribute to her, something that meant a lot to Knight as the two have had a friendship spanning over six decades.

“That’s my little sister. We have been together since we were like this,” Knight, told Fox News, “Every now and then, things get a little rough. We got kids, we both had children the same time.”

During the ceremony, Patti LaBelle, took the stage to pay tribute to her friend, calling Knight her “everything” and reminiscing about their decades-long friendship. Before performing the song “That’s What Friends Are For,” LaBelle stated , “We do everything together,” recalling the moments throughout their friendship in which they have laughed and cried together, saying, “I am honored to honor you tonight.”
