Had a wonderful time Saturday at the WriteAngles conference hosted by over the weekend! Learned about marketing your writing, top for revision, framing political pieces, and oral storytelling. I’m excited to incorporate the learnings into the next round of Writing 4 Realz, my six month writing and coaching container which starts again in January.
And I got to have lunch with one of my favorite poets, Rafter Ferguson. 💙

Why work with me? I’ve been in the game for more than a decade as a yoga teacher, coach and facilitator, and as the daughter of someone who worked in the White House, my politicization began when I was in the womb. As a chronic illness survivor of 25 years, I’ve learned a thing or two and I’ve done a sh*t ton of personal work. I feel blessed to currently have the capacity to be a mentor and get some baby healers up and running.

Have you been too an event that isn’t well facilitated? Where there isn’t strong container setting? IYKYK!
When you’re leading a group or holding space there are ways to do it that are more effective for harmonizing the bodies in the room, be it in person or virtual, so that transformation big and small can occur. And when it’s well done, it’s like magic. ✨
But there aren’t a lot of places for newbies to learn these skills and that’s part of why I’m launching the Community Healers Apprenticeship-to give aspiring healers and space holders the tools, mentorship, and practice to begin to master the art of creating transformative spaces.

These are some of the amazing writers who I’ve had the privilege of facilitating over the last 6.5 months in my Writing 4 Realz program.
Since January, fourteen of us have been working diligently and supporting each other to write memoirs, poems, prose poems, prayers, essays, and other creative pieces for performance, contests, and publication of all kinds. Last night we all gathered for our final call of this cohort and I can’t believe I forgot to take a photo!!
I’m so proud of these beautiful artists, leaders, teachers, and weirdos, and especially the way everyone continued to show up for their art and each other in the midst of real personal difficulties and in such a difficult dumpster fire moment in our country’s history.
I can’t wait to start again in January. Deets on my website if you want to get in on the next round.
