📝 This week we are highlighting our Amazing Paraeducators! 💖

Have you seen these smiling faces in the after-school pickup line? Or maybe your child has mentioned their name while talking about recess or lunch, or an activity in the classroom. These talented educators have returned to our elementary team this year, and we're so thankful to have them back as part of the Nodaway Valley Elementary Family! 💜

Our Paraeducators play an essential role in supporting students and teachers every day. Their dedication, compassion, and teamwork help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all. We are so grateful for everything they do to make our school a wonderful place to learn and grow! ✏️🌎

So a BIG thank you to Ms. Grace, Mrs. Crigger, Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Weber, and Ms. Joanna for your hard work and commitment – you truly make a difference!

🍎 The main wishlist item from these awesome paraeducators is classroom snacks! "Snacks are always needed for our kids! It helps their day go better!" If you'd like to donate to a specific classroom or the school as a whole, please reach out to any of our amazing staff members!

🌈 What a colorful day at NV Elementary! 🌈

Our students had a fantastic time participating in our Color Walk/Run as part of the Iowa Healthiest State Walk! There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and, of course, lots of COLOR! 🎨🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A huge THANK YOU to our Elementary Booster Club for providing the funding to help make this fun event possible. We also appreciate all of our amazing teachers and staff who helped make the day so memorable for our students. Your enthusiasm and willingness to join in the fun made the event even more special!

And we couldn't forget the special appearance by Chief Speakman, who helped add to the excitement of the day! 👮‍♂️🌈

We are so thankful for the support of our school community and for opportunities like this that encourage our students to be active, have fun, and make great memories together! 💙💛

🌟 Meet Our Amazing Staff at Nodaway Valley Elementary! 🌟

🍎 This week we are highlighting our Fourth Grade Team and our Office Staff 📚

📝 Our Fourth Grade Team includes Mrs. Kuster and Ms. Wall. This duo builds a strong foundation across subjects and helps our students prepare for the transition to Middle School!
➗ With Ms. Wall in Math, fourth graders are diving deep into understanding math concepts by connecting numbers to the world around them. They're going beyond memorizing facts and using them to explore perimeter, area, fractions, and angles. Students are also mastering place value by comparing decimals and practicing multiplication and division with larger numbers!
📚 With Mrs. Kuster in Literacy, students are growing their critical thinking skills by analyzing themes, main ideas, and key details in both fiction and non-fiction texts. They're expanding their vocabulary by learning about root words, prefixes, and suffixes, which helps them decode new words! With plenty of opportunities to write narrative, informative, and opinion pieces, they're getting better at choosing the right writing style for audience and purpose.
🔍 STEAM Lab Adventures:
Fourth graders are exploring exciting hands-on science activities with Mrs. Stormer in the STEAM Lab! ⚙️🧪

🏫 How's the school running? Check in the Office! These key players keep our elementary school running smoothly every day. From leadership and organization to health and cleanliness, these team members go above and beyond for our students and staff!

👨🏼‍🏫 Mr. Larson– Elementary Principal
The principal is the central piece of our building's efficiency & community! From creating a safe, welcoming, and academically rich environment to supporting each individual child, teacher, and staff member, he is our guy! Thank you, Mr. Larson!

📋 Mrs. Wildin– Elementary Secretary
If you've ever called or visited the office, you've likely experienced Mrs. Wildin's kindness and efficiency firsthand! She keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, supporting students, families, and staff with a smile. We appreciate all you do, Mrs. Wildin!

🩹 Mrs. Warrior – PK-12 Nurse
Mrs. Warrior takes care of our students with compassion and professionalism. Whether it's a scraped knee or a bigger health concern, she's there with the care and calm that our kids need. Thank you, Mrs. Warrior, for keeping us healthy and safe!

🧽 Mrs. Jones – Elementary Custodian
Our school shines because of Mrs. Jones! She works hard every day to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for everyone. Her attention to detail and dedication often go unseen– but not unappreciated! Thank you, Mrs. Jones!
