Time Capsule Photos- Part 2

We have had an exciting and memorable last two weeks as we prepared for the opening of the 1986 time capsule. In honor of the 250th birthday of the United States this year, the decision was made to open the capsule and revisit a special piece of our school’s history.

Over the past several weeks, our students have worked hard creating projects and memories of their own to place in a new time capsule that will be opened in 50 years, in the year 2076, during the 300th birthday celebration of the United States.

The 1986 time capsule was officially opened on Thursday, May 14. Former teachers and staff members helped carefully display the items that had been preserved for four decades. Throughout the week, our current students enjoyed viewing the artifacts and reading letters written 40 years ago by students and staff from the past.

Tonight, we were honored to welcome back former students who attended Nolachuckey when the original time capsule was buried in 1986. They enjoyed reminiscing, sharing memories, and revisiting the items that connected them to their school days so many years ago.

Even our grown-ups are doing their best! Congratulations to this positive office referral!

Extra yearbooks will be available at a first come first serve basis starting tomorrow, Friday, May 15th. We want to make sure all pre-orders have been taken care of.
