Would you add a red dot optic to your shotgun? 🎯

Yet another example right here in Northeast Wisconsin to use as a reference point for sharpening our skills.

Vigilance must be practiced inside AND outside of the home…

Here is a little refresher:

The Color Codes of Awareness are broken down into 4 Parts.

WHITE - Totally unaware. Totally oblivious to the fact that someone might, would or could attack them. We see people like this every day… Headphones in. Looking at their phones. Driving down Interstate 41.

YELLOW - Aware. You have a plan and you’re actively practicing that plan and hypothetically running that plan while you simply pay attention to your surroundings. You are NOT paranoid. You are aware. You have your head up. You walk confidently. You scan your surroundings. You make eye contact with other human beings (terrifying, I know).

ORANGE - Heightened state of awareness. You recognize that something is off. There is something not quite right about the place or the situation that you’re in. The hairs on the back of your neck start to tingle.

RED - ACTION! This is where you begin to execute the PLAN that you have PRACTICED in an effort to escape, evade or neutralize the threat. Whatever the situation calls for…

Now. It’s easy for us to slip right in to condition WHITE when we’re home. Right? You’ve earned it. Life is stressful - work, family, friends, finances, pick whatever stresses you out.

And you should be able to work from home feeling safe and comfortable. Or chill out after a long day while you sip a glass of _______ (fill in the blank) and watch Netflix.

But. Then there’s this…

Someone - “Delivery” person. The “Spectrum” guy. A “Political Party” professional canvassing the neighborhood - knocks on your door.

But. They’re not who they say they are…

This is important because this is an old scam. It’s been used before and it requires someone to gain your trust quickly while your guard is down in the ONE PLACE you should feel safe.

Have a plan for different scenarios.

Practice that plan.

Live safe - INSIDE and OUTSIDE of your home.

Scammers are no longer just sending emails or texts or making phone calls. They are showing up at people’s homes. Tammy Elliott has more in this Consumer First alert
