de. My educational background is in elementary and early childhood education as well as in gifted education. I love working with "outliers" and helping them succeed. One of my favorite jobs was a reading and math interventionist where I worked mostly 1 on 1 with students who were more than a year behind in school compared to their peers. It was like solving a puzzle; trying to figure out what they needed to be successful and the best way to meet that need. When I moved back to Montana, I landed a job where I taught for 6 years in a low-income school with a 96% poverty rate. Teaching in this environment, combined with learning about my gifted and autistic son, I discovered a new passion for working with Neurodivergent kids, twice exceptional students, and their families. I'm married to a self-identified Autistic husband, mother to an identified gifted and Autistic son, and adopted mom to 3 wonderful little ones who experienced extreme trauma. I bring to the table teaching experience in extremely diverse classrooms combined with learning a lot over the years about gifted education, twice exceptional students, and the world of Neurodiversity. I've had to learn to adapt to meeting my students' wide range of needs as well as learn to advocate for my son who struggles to "fit in '' in the regular classroom. I may not have all the answers; however, I feel my variety of experiences gives me a unique perspective and if I don't know something, I'm happy to research and reach out to my connections to find out the answers I seek.
