IN MEMORIAM — BILL SLOAN

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Bill Sloan, one of the original members of our 53rd GA reenacting family and one of our Cedartown boys.

Major General Lee Wayne Murdock remembered Bill simply and fittingly:

“One of our original members has passed. One of our Cedartown boys, Bill Sloan. He was a patriot, a good soldier and a fine Christian man. I will truly miss him.”

Bill helped build the foundation upon which our unit stands today. The years may pass and the ranks may change, but it we do not forget the men who stood in those ranks before us.

Our deepest condolences go to Bill’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of sharing the field and camp with him.

Rest easy, Soldier. Your duty is done, but you will not be forgotten.
