Still Building New Things
Some people think later life is about slowing down. I’ve discovered something different. Sometimes the later chapters of life are when we finally have the freedom to explore ideas that have been quietly waiting for years.
For me, one of those ideas was building and flying my own airplane in my seventies. That experience raised a question I hadn’t expected: Not just “What’s next?”
But “What might the next chapter of life be for?”
This Wednesday I’m hosting a small online conversation called My Third Act where we’ll explore that question together.
It’s not a webinar or presentation — just a thoughtful conversation with a small group of people reflecting on life transitions and the possibilities of life’s next chapter.

The Question That Appears Later
At certain points in life, something begins to shift.
The question is no longer simply “What’s next?”
Instead it becomes something deeper: What might the next chapter of my life be for?
Over the years I’ve had many conversations with people sensing that change — sometimes through retirement, sometimes through a career transition, and sometimes simply through a quiet realization that life may be opening into something new.
Those conversations eventually led to creating My Third Act.
If that question resonates with you, you’re warmly invited to join our upcoming My Third Act Gathering — a small, thoughtful conversation about life’s next chapter.
You’re welcome to come simply to listen and reflect.

✈️ Never Too Late
At age 70, John started building his own airplane. Not because he needed one. But because he wondered if he still could.
Most people assume the adventurous chapters of life happen earlier — when we’re young, starting out, and building our careers.
But sometimes the most interesting chapters arrive later.
A few years after finishing the airplane, John returned to school and completed a doctorate at age 76. Not because he needed the degree. But because life still felt full of possibility.
Over the years he has had many conversations with people who are beginning to wonder what their own next chapter of life might hold.
Those conversations eventually led to the creation of My Third Act.
If you’ve ever found yourself reflecting on what the years ahead might hold, you’re warmly invited to join the upcoming My Third Act Gathering.
You’re welcome to come simply to listen and reflect.

🌿 The Quiet Question
Sometimes the most important questions in life arrive quietly.
For many years, life tends to move in a fairly clear direction. We spend our time building a career, raising a family, and meeting the many responsibilities that come with those seasons. The years can feel full and demanding, and often there is always another goal ahead or another task waiting to be done.
But eventually something shifts. It doesn’t always happen because of a major event. Sometimes it simply arrives quietly, when we begin to realize that the life ahead may look different from the life behind.
When that happens, a new kind of question begins to surface.
Not an urgent question, and not a problem that needs solving. More of a gentle reflection:
What might this next chapter of life be for?
Over the years I’ve had many conversations with people who find themselves asking that question. Those conversations eventually led me to create My Third Act — a space to pause, reflect, and explore what the years ahead might hold. 🌿
If this reflection resonates with you, you’re warmly invited to join the upcoming My Third Act online gathering.
You’re welcome to come simply to listen, reflect, and be part of the conversation.

🌱 Still in Act Two
Recently a woman in her early 40s shared something interesting with me. She said she saw the invitation to the My Third Act gathering, and it made her stop and think.
“I’m still very much in Act 2 of my life — raising children and building a career. But seeing this made me wonder… what should I be thinking about now for Act 3?”
It’s a wonderful question.
Most of us spend Act 1 learning and Act 2 building. Education, career, family, responsibilities — those years are often full and demanding.
But occasionally a quieter thought appears.
Not a plan. Not a pressure. Just a question. What might the next chapter of life look like?
Sometimes the best preparation for Act 3 isn’t strategy. Sometimes it’s simply awareness — the awareness that life unfolds in seasons, and that the chapters ahead may hold possibilities we have not yet imagined.
These are the kinds of reflections that led me to create My Third Act.
If this reflection resonates with you — whether you feel firmly in Act 2 or are already entering Act 3 — you’re warmly invited to join the upcoming conversation. Come and join us simply to listen and reflect.

🌅 Living With Uncertainty
One of the quiet realities many people experience later in life is uncertainty.
For much of our lives, the path ahead is fairly clear.
Education.
Career.
Family.
Responsibilities.
But eventually many people reach a moment where the future feels a little more open.
A little less defined.
And sometimes that uncertainty is not a problem.
Sometimes it’s an invitation 🌿
An invitation to reflect on the life we’ve lived.
An invitation to ask new questions.
An invitation to imagine what the next chapter might hold.
Those kinds of conversations eventually led me to create My Third Act.
If you’ve been reflecting on what this next season of life might hold, you’re welcome to join the upcoming gathering.

Welcome to My Third Act
🌿 A New Season
There comes a time in life when the question is no longer
“What’s next for my career?”
but something deeper:
“What’s next for my life?” ✨
Over the years I’ve had many conversations with people who sense they are entering a new season of life 🌿
✨ Sometimes it comes with retirement.
✨ Sometimes after a career transition.
✨ Sometimes after loss or unexpected change.
And sometimes it simply arrives quietly — when we realize the life ahead may need to look different from the life behind.
Those conversations eventually led me to create My Third Act.
On April 8, I’ll be hosting a small online gathering for people who may be reflecting on their own next chapter.
It won’t be a lecture.
It won’t be a sales presentation.
Just a thoughtful conversation about recognizing where we are in life — and what may lie ahead.
If this idea resonates with you, you’re welcome to join us even if you’re simply curious about the conversation.

Over the past few months I’ve been having a lot of thoughtful conversations with people about something that doesn’t always get talked about very openly.
There comes a time in life when things may still look fine on the outside —
but inside, something begins to shift.
Not a crisis.
Not necessarily a problem.
Just a quiet sense that the chapter ahead may need to be different from the chapter behind.
Sometimes that happens around retirement.
Sometimes after a career change, a health event, or a change in family life.
And sometimes it’s simply a growing awareness that the years ahead are too important to drift through without intention.
Those conversations are what led me to begin something I’m calling My Third Act.
It’s not about having all the answers.
It’s about creating space to pause, reflect, and begin to think more clearly about what this next season of life might hold.
Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing a few reflections here and inviting people into a small workshop conversation around this idea.
If this is a season you’re thinking about as well, I’d be glad to have you follow along.
