Today we excited to announce Charlie Brauer of Three Rivers will be joining the family. Charlie says “I chose K because know that the quality of education will set me up for the most succes in the future. I can’t thank Coach Morrison enough for this opportunity as I believe that he’s done a great job with rebuilding the programs, and he makes me feel wanted as a person, not just as a number.” We’re pumped you’re with us, Charlie!

Today we are thrilled to announce that Iain Gilmore from Blissfield HS will be joining the family. Iain says “ I’m so excited to attend Kalamazoo college this fall! Going as a student athlete to my top college is something of a dream come true. K provides me with so many opportunities such as the ability to double major and studying abroad my junior year, both of which I plan to take advantage of. I’m eager to study and run at K, can’t wait to share the track with you all next year!”

Today we welcome Madeline Riker of Gull Lake to the family. Madeline will become our next team manager and we’re thrilled to have her passion for the sport as part of our program. Madeline says “ever since I toured K through a field trip class in fifth grade, I knew it was the place for me. From its study abroad program to the flexibility to double or even triple major, it sounded like the school I wanted to continue to learn. The students, professors, and mentors are people I look forward to getting to know. After meeting with Coach Morrison this fall, I was sold on K. I can’t wait to be a team manager for the cross country and track teams!”

Today we welcome our final assistant coach, Derrick Sanders. Derrick will work primarily with our jumpers. Derrick was a standout at Portage Northern competed at both the MHSAA State Meet and New Balance Nationals. He later returned to Portage Northern as a track and field coach, spending 10 years developing athletes and strengthening the program. Derrick also coached with Colon Track & Field and the AAU Blazers, helping athletes grow in skill, confidence, and competitive success.  He is a teacher and head football coach at Colon in addition to his duties at K. Welcome, Derrick!

Today we welcome Anthony Dubeck into our class of 2026 commitments. Anthony is a very disciplined student-athlete and the son of a alum. Anthony is planning on majoring in business and says “Kalamazoo College stood out to me because it challenges me at a high level in both the classroom and on the course. I wanted a program that would push me every day, and I know this is that place.” Welcome, Anthony!

Today we announce that Edward Mugisha will be part of the family beginning fall 2026. Edward is a versatile student-athlete who is strong on the XC course and also extremely quick on the track in events from the 4x4 to the 1600. Edward says “I am excited to see how I will grow at K and I am thankful for this opportunity that Coach Morrison and Coach Hickey have given to me. Watch out UNC; on the move.” We’re pumped you’ll be with us, Edward.
