Something to think about regarding schools, parenting, and life coaching.....
Schools - in preparation for life as a grownup, the majority of schools teach our young, impressionable and malleable brains WHAT to think.....imagine a school that teaches How to think and understanding that WHAT a person thinks is determined by HOW a person thinks.
Parenting - we all know that our little ones did not come with a book of instructions on how to be a good and effective parent to prepare our precious young ones to live life on their own. As much as we swear we will do things differently than our parents did, we often find ourselves saying "I sound just like my mother!" Since we were given no set of instructions, think about the following: what if we identified and agreed upon the ultimate result we wished to see in our children when they become adults? Think specific, really specific and remember that lack of a specific objective yields less than satisfactory results. More on that in another posting.
Life Coaching - People often ask me "what is a life coach?" I brought up the above two situations to get one thinking. After all, as a parent, it seems to me, we are coaching our children for life...
