FIRE SAFETY UPDATES
With the air quality in Southern Oregon worsening, staying indoors and away from the smoke is vital.
Currently, the following areas have evacuation levels assigned:
Cave Junction is on Stand-by - potentially escalating to level GREEN (level 1).
Areas of Kirby are both on stand-by and at level GREEN (level 1). - Begin to prepare for evacuation.
O'Brien is at level YELLOW (level 2). - BE PREPARED TO EVACUATE.
All areas south of O'Brien are at level RED (Level 3) to evacuate the area as safely as possible.
BEING PREPARED IS KEY!

Areas of 199 are CLOSED:
Beginning Monday, Aug. 28, CHP will be es**rting traffic on Highway 199 between Gasquet and the Oregon Border.
According to CHP, drivers will be es**rted along Highway 299 twice daily, fire behavior permitting. Officials say the first will es**rt be at 7 a.m. All northbound traffic in Gasquet will be transported to the Oregon border and all southbound traffic from the border will be es**rted by CHP officers. According to officials, once all the traffic has been es**rted the process will repeat at 5 p.m.

The Equus Workforce Solutions - Pre-Apprenticeship TRADES program will be starting the summer session soon - AND AT BOTH OUR CAMPUSES!
Grants Pass will begin on Monday, July 17th

Our pre-apprenticeship program is certified by the Bureau Of Labor and Industries and designed to prepare students for careers in the building and construction fields. After completion, students will have access to direct placement opportunities or apply to apprenticeship programs that will help them become skilled tradespeople.

Equus joined forces with Project Youth Plus at this year’s Boatnik “You Got A Friend In GP” community parade on Saturday, May 27th. Our current RVTTC Pre-Apprenticeship Trades Program students constructed the float as one of their class projects. Our friends at Project Youth Plus came by to help us paint and decal our Radio Flyer Wagon to make it ready for the road.

A special thank you to our Equus instructors, Carlos Sotelo and Kenny Boardman, Misti & Summer at Project Youth Plus, the Equus & Project Youth Plus students, John Misterly for loaning us the trailer, and our Equus team members who helped make the day fun and memorable. We love participating in the community and look forward to the next event!
