Revive the Hive

THIS is what you voted for. 👏

Today, the first wall panel of the new YME school building was officially set — and we just want to say THANK YOU.

To everyone who supported the Revive the Hive effort, shared information, attended meetings, asked questions, had conversations with neighbors, put up signs, volunteered, advocated, and ultimately showed up to vote YES — we hope you know that this project could not have happened without you.

What was once an idea on paper is now literally rising out of the ground.

This was a BIG decision for our district, but it was also a BIG win for Granite Falls, Clarkfield, Echo, Hazel Run, Hanley Falls, The Upper Sioux Community and all of the communities that make up YME. It was an investment in our kids, our schools and the future of this entire area.

There is still a lot of work ahead, but seeing those first walls go up today is a pretty incredible reminder of what our communities accomplished together.

You helped make this happen. Thank you for believing in YME and voting to Revive the Hive. 💛🖤🐝

One year ago today, our community showed up in a HUGE way and said YES!

As we look back on this incredible milestone, we also want to recognize the amazing Vote YES committee who worked tirelessly to help make this vision a reality.

Countless conversations, meetings, signs, posts, events, questions answered, and hours volunteered—all because you believed in what was possible for the future of YME and our community.

One year later, we’re watching that vision come to life. 🏗️💛

To every person who helped Revive the Hive—THANK YOU. We did this together. 🐝

And the best part? We’re just getting started.

None of this would be possible without you.

To everyone who attended meetings, asked questions, shared information, volunteered their time, encouraged neighbors, and ultimately supported this project at the ballot box—thank you. Your belief in our students, staff, and future made this possible.

The work is far from over, but today we’re reminded just how far we’ve come. The future of YME is being built right before our eyes, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.

We Did It, YME Community!

Unofficial Results: 1319 Yes (70.6%) 548 No (29.4%)

We’re still wrapping our heads around this incredible win at the polls. Words feel small compared to the gratitude and pride we feel right now.

Thank you.
Thank you to every single person who voted, volunteered, knocked on doors, made calls, shared information, and believed in this vision for our schools and community.

This victory isn’t just about a referendum—it’s about us coming together as neighbors, friends, families, and champions of our students’ futures. It’s proof that when we unite around a common cause, we can move mountains.

We couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished together. There’s so much to say, so much excitement for what’s ahead—but for now, we just want to say this:
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us.

Here’s to a brighter future for Yellow Medicine East—our students, our staff, and our whole community.
