Thank you our amazing Granite Falls Fire. Today we got to peak our heads out throughout the day and watch the amazing sight of a Controlled Burn. We were able to talk with our nuggets and answer questions like, "Why would they do that on purpose!?" "Should we be scared?" or "Can we see it again?" We were able to take a real life experience and make it educational! We are so glad the Legion Hall has a new place they get to call home and are so thankful our firefighters had this opportunity for training. .

And with that, February is over!

February was a packed month. Not only did we have our Valentines Day Party, but in the Month of February, Mrs. Kasandra's class did a Book Series Study. They read through 5 different books and completed a cooking projects for each one!
Can you tell what Book Series they read through?

Northern Lights Art project in Mrs. Kasandra's class! 🤩😍🥰

This was a multi stepped art project that first started out with a little science. As a class, we learned, what are the norther lights (Aurora's), what makes them happen, where can you see them, and why do we see different colors?

Then we dove into our the project using oil pastels with differing amounts of pressure (to get different colors results). We then used chalk to get a "glowing" look, and finished it off by using paper to rub the oil pastels to make it look like the lights were in motion.

This art project was inspired by Kathy's Art Projects.

I am no judge, but I would give these a 10/10!

Our nuggets worked so hard on their creations. All of the houses turned out so well for our gingerbread house competition 🥰😍

In Mrs. Debra's class the nuggets read several different gingerbread man stories, then used them as inspiration to write their own version of the gingerbread man!

In Mrs. Kasandra's class the nuggets read several different gingerbread man books as they worked on comparing and contrasting the stories and working on retell.

At the end of both units, both classes made gingerbread (graham cracker) houses!
