And we're back! And you'll see me real soon! I'll be celebrating memorial day at the U.S.S. Hornet on the 27th. Looking forward to getting back into some events again! However, I will still be taking it slow. A lot of things are happening behind the scenes. But, I look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

Servicing and arming planes, repairing engines, checking instruments, air control duties the list goes on and on. It is almost unbelievable what these women are doing. Here's a little somethin' you might not know about me:

🚁 - I'm currently a Commercial Helicopter Pilot working on getting my Instrument and CFI Licenses.
🛩 - Aviation has always been an interest of mine since I was about 5. (living the dream now!)
📖 - History became my favorite subject in middle school and hasn't changed since.
👨‍🏫 - I also do public presentations for museums and schools about aviation during World War two.

“The F4U Corsair entered combat in 1943, and gave Allied naval aviators a winning edge against their opponents. Renowned for its speed, ruggedness, and firepower, the Corsair excelled as both a fighter and an attack aircraft in support of ground forces. "The Avenger had a large bomb bay, allowing for one Bliss-Leavitt Mark 13 torpedo, a single 2,000 pound bomb, or up to four 500 pound bombs. The aircraft had overall ruggedness and stability, and pilots say it flew like a truck, for better or worse." (nasflmuseum.com)

Back in 2021, I got the opportunity to demo how to use semaphore flags to communicate. Flag semaphore is the telegraphy system conveying information at a distance by means of visual signals with hand-held flags, rods, disks, paddles, or occasionally bare or gloved hands. A sailor who uses flags to communicate is called a signalman. From kids to adults, they loved it! Getting the opportunity to learn history with your hands is a joy, both for the audience and for me!

My Naval Aviation impression standing in front of a PBY.

“One of the most recognized aircraft in the world, the Consolidated PBY Catalina not only served in the U.S. Navy, but also with the air arms of Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Netherlands and the Soviet Union.
