SCHOOL CANCELED TODAY - FEBRUARY 18, 2026

Due to overnight snowfall and accumulating ice, all schools in the Granite Falls School District will be closed today, February 18, 2026.

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Current road conditions remain hazardous, and local forecasts predict continued freezing temperatures and snow through the morning.

What you need to know:

School Buildings: All campuses are closed.
Transportation: No bus service will be provided.
Extracurriculars: All after-school activities, sports practices, and evening events are canceled. A decision will be made for GFHS Girls Basketball Game Away later today.

🚨If you were signed up to receive food and gifts as part of the GFSD Food & Gift Drive, we are planning to have all food and gifts available to families today, December 18, 2025. Our goal will be to contact families via phone on Thursday morning to arrange pick-up times. All pick-ups will be done from Granite Falls High School – 1401 100th Street NE, Granite Falls, WA. If you have questions, please email us at [email protected]. You can also call 360-283-4515 to schedule your pick-up.

POWER UPDATE as of December 17, 2025 6:00pm

We are pleased to share that power has been restored at all Granite Falls School District campuses. A huge thank you to Snohomish County PUD for their hard work in getting our schools back up and running!

While power is back, we are continuing to monitor the weather and local conditions closely. Any and all communication about school will be communicated through our social media channels, email, texts and calls.

🚨Following last night’s windstorm, we continue to assess conditions across our district. Our crews are working to ensure that schools are ready for students tomorrow, provided power is restored.

A decision regarding school for tomorrow has not yet been made. We will evaluate conditions throughout the night and early tomorrow morning, and will communicate with families as soon as a decision is finalized. Each school site must have power and network access in order to operate safely.

As of this afternoon:
⚡Mountain Way Elementary: Power
⚡Monte Cristo Elementary: No power
⚡Granite Falls Middle School: No power
⚡Granite Falls High School: No power
⚡Crossroads High School: No power
⚡Early Learning Center: No power
⚡District Office: No power

All after-school activities at all Granite Falls schools, including high school athletic practices, have been canceled.

Thank you to Snohomish County PUD crews for their continuing efforts to restore power to all GFSD campuses. Thank you, too, for your patience and understanding as student and staff safety remains our top priority when evaluating when to reopen our schools. Due to power outage and unsafe road conditions, all schools in the Granite Falls School District will be CLOSED today, Wednesday, December 17.

Activities: All after-school activities, athletics, and practices are cancelled.

Transportation: No out-of-district transportation will be provided.

They'll be serving up delicious eats at the Granite Falls High School Track Meet on Thursday, April 27th, 2025, from 3–7 PM. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to FBLA — come hungry and help our future business leaders succeed!
