Celebrating 250 Years of America!

Earlier this school year, Mrs. Harrell’s 8th Grade History class took a little time to recognize a pretty BIG milestone—America’s 250th birthday!

Since this historic anniversary took place during the summer while our students were away from school, Mrs. Harrell didn’t want them to miss the opportunity to understand just how significant 250 years really is. She incorporated the milestone into her classroom, giving students a chance to celebrate while also learning about its importance in our nation’s history.

We love seeing history go beyond the pages of a textbook and helping our students connect what they’re learning to the world around them!

Happy 250th, America!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. BROCKETT!

What better way to celebrate our favorite Assistant Principal than with a little lunchtime serenade from some of his favorite people?!

Our students made sure Mr. Brockett felt the birthday love today with a very special rendition of Happy Birthday!

We hope your day is filled with lots of laughs, plenty of cake, and maybe even a little less paperwork! Thank you for everything you do for our students, staff, and school each and every day.

GAME DAY STARTED WITH A GREAT BREAKFAST!

A big THANK YOU to Shady Grove Church and Pastor Jacob Avery for providing a delicious game day breakfast for our Grand Ridge football players and cheerleaders this morning! We are so thankful for the wonderful community members who continue to support and encourage our students.

Now it’s time for some GRS FOOTBALL! Our boys will take the field TONIGHT at 6:00 PM as they take on Marianna (game held on the Sneads High School Football Field)!

Come out, fill the stands, and help us cheer on our Indians!

Science is always more fun when you get to put it to the test!

Mr. Harkrider’s 6th Grade Science students got a little hands-on with an experiment called ā€œPoke, Don’t Soak!ā€

Students first formed a hypothesis about what would happen if they pushed a pencil through a plastic bag filled halfway with water. Would the water come pouring out…or would the bag hold?

Then came the fun part—testing their hypotheses! Students filled their bags with water, pushed a pencil straight through, and got to see firsthand whether their predictions were correct.

Hands-on learning, a little suspense, and some pretty cool science make for a great day in 6th grade!

A Sweet Friday Treat!

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our amazing GRS families, friends, and community members who helped sponsor our faculty and staff today for a special Dirty Soda treat from Fizzy Sister!

There’s nothing quite like a fun Friday pick-me-up, and these delicious drinks were the perfect way to end the week!

We are so thankful for a community that continues to show our staff so much love and appreciation. Your kindness truly means more than you know!

Thank you for always taking care of our Tribe!

Once an Indian, Always an Indian!

Grand Ridge School would like to send a very special THANK YOU to Miss Jackson County, Kaliyah Robinson, for giving back to GRS through her service project!

Kaliyah, a proud Grand Ridge School alumna, donated a wonderful Comfort Closet stocked with hygiene products to help ensure our students have access to everyday essentials when they need them.

We are so proud to see one of our former students giving back and making a difference for the students who are following in her footsteps. Thank you, Kaliyah, for remembering your Grand Ridge roots and for supporting our students!
