Call to Action Monday and Tuesday: Demand Senators Slotkin and Peters oppose the CLARITY Act, the toothless and inadequate “crypto regulation” bill that would continue to enable Trump to amass massive wealth from crypto corruption.

Peters 202.224.6221, https://www.peters.senate.gov/contact/email-gary
Slotkin 202.224.4822, https://www.slotkin.senate.gov/contact/contact-senator-slotkin/

The script is here: https://indivisible.org/actions/stop-trumps-crypto-corruption/?akid=126578.136108._FrBP3&rd=1&t=25&utm_medium=newsletter_20260803&utm_source=email

It’s possible that the Senate will try to vote on the CLARITY Act before leaving for August recess on Friday -- faux crypto regulation legislation that would let Trump build on his $1.4 billion profit from the industry in 2025. This bill doesn’t protect consumers, doesn’t close money laundering loopholes, and doesn’t stop Trump’s crypto bribery machine. 78 House Dems voted to pass it last year -- we can’t let the Senate force it through before recess.

The Senate will be considering the CLARITY ACT, a Trojan horse for deregulation that would only help Trump, billionaires, and foreign governments profit at our expense. We need senators to block them.

This week's action items are live on our Substack!

NOTE: The most important call is to oppose the Budget Reconciliation Bill. This Bill passed in the House and includes the provisions of the SAVE Act voter suppression bill. The Budget Reconciliation Bill would bypass the 60 vote rule in the Senate to pass the legislation, meaning Republicans could pass it even if all Democratic Senators vote against it. Please make your voices heard!

Affordability, access to healthcare and the influence of corporations, AIPAC and other big money PACs drew voters to Abdul El-Sayed’s rally at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids. With Michigan’s Aug. 4 U.S. Senate primary approaching, people said voting was their chance to help decide which candidates and priorities move forward.

El-Sayed is running against Haley Stevens for the Democratic nomination. Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined El-Sayed before a capacity crowd July 19.

TODAY is the day we release the Vote Rocks into the community.

Think about putting them in high pedestrian traffic areas -- bus stops, parks, walking paths are all great ideas.

Be sure to share pictures of the rocks you placed!

If you've already voted for Mallory McMorrow:

The State of Michigan allows voters to “spoil,” or cancel, their ballot and request a new one up to a certain point before election day.

(Once a ballot has been inserted into a tabulator, it cannot be changed.)

Voters who complete and submit an absent voter ballot by mail, in person at a local clerk’s office, or via drop box, have the option to change their vote by spoiling their original ballot and requesting a new one:

-- The deadline for spoiling a returned absentee ballot is 5 p.m. on the second Friday (July 24) before the election.

-- The deadline for spoiling an unreturned absentee ballot and receiving another by mail is the Friday immediately before the election (July 31) at 5 p.m.

-- The deadline to spoil and receive another in-person absentee ballot is the day before the election (August 3) at 4 p.m.

Voters who insert their absentee ballot into a tabulator at an early voting site cannot spoil their ballot or change their vote.
