As we enter the half way point of Women's History Month, it only feels right to share such an incredible project we've been working on. Women representing, supporting, and birthing in different spaces and in different ways - and it being documented!

Something that is often missed in our line of work, is the documentation of life being brought into the world and the beautiful, supported, less traumatic experiences of those birthing people.

So to honor the women who have paved the way - and those who continue to - we are delighted to share these beautiful photographs, taken by THE Our Village Support, in partnership with our wonderful doulas!

Labor doesn’t have to be chaotic. Often times people associate the traumatic and disoriented births they see on TV with how they see birth as a reality. The reality is, birth can also be very calm and peaceful! All are acceptable and deserve support 🫶🏽

We all had such a great time catching up and attending the Butterworth OR Orientation Training. Such an exciting opportunity to open the window of support in our community. Doulas who attend the training will have access to supporting their clients as an additional support to their one support person in the OR room at Butterworth hospital.

Trained by Day One Doula Collective, she blends traditional wisdom with practical support — offering herbal care, placenta preparation, and even hair braiding as a grounding ritual during early labor or postpartum. 🌿✨
Rooted in yoga and herbalism, Waleeda’s approach nurtures balance, healing, and connection throughout the sacred journey of birth. 🤍

✨ Who’s That Doula? Meet Aerial Mason — a DONA-trained birth and postpartum doula, and proud mom of three! Aerial is passionate about empowering families through every stage of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. With personal experience navigating a VBAC journey, she creates safe spaces where mothers—especially single moms—feel supported, valued, and confident in their journey. 💕
