Well guys.... I'm off to Mexico!
Starting things off with a train ride to Chicago.....Talk about mixing immigration and infrastructure in one pic...
This will be my first time I'll be going back in 16 years!.... and it's not something everyone has the chance to do.

Right now politicians have a chance to pass immigration reform for the millions of hardworking immigrants who kept America running through the pandemic.
I need you call your senators and tell them you want to see a pathway to citizenship to pass THIS YEAR! ✊

From the organizer of this clean-up event:
"As a participant of the Black Lives Matter protest, I am sad to see the results of this event. **The organizers of this event made it clear that this was a peaceful protest. We still support the black community as we address issues of racism and systemic oppression** Let us come together as a community to repair the damages that have been done. Please contact me directly with questions or concerns.
Let us show our community and the media that we are strong when we work together.
Any donations or cleaning supplies are appreciated. Please share. *masks required as we are working to ensure social distancing*"

Check out the "Mobile Justice" app by the ACLU of Michigan. It reports your interactions with the police to the ACLU. I just found out about this app so I'm pretty new to it. But unfortunately, we live in times where things like these are needed. Here's what I've gathered about the app:
__________
The app has 3 functions: "Record", "Witness", "Report".
📸 Record will film your interactions with the police and automatically send them to the ACLU after filming.
🤳 Witness will let you know when someone is being stopped by the police and where they are, so long as they have the app too.
📝 Report will take you directly to the reporting functions to document the incident or interaction with the police. Reports are anonymous but there is the option to include your name, phone number, and email should the ACLU have any follow up questions.
__________
I would recommend everyone get this app or get good at starting a Facebook live or something. The police needs to be held accountable for their actions. We cannot let their abuses of power go hidden. Our phones can be a tool to achieve that. To record, to witness, to report.
This app is also available for the ACLU of the following states:
- California
- Georgia
- Minnesota
- Colorado
- Pennsylvania
- North Carolina
- Virginia
- Oregon
- Missouri
- Maryland
- New Jersey
- Arizona
- Nebraska
- DC
- Oklahoma
- New Mexico
- Mississippi
Take care of everyone, stay safe, and stay healthy!

Hey everyone,
Michigan United has organized a tele-town hall with the director of the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services tomorrow at 6pm to answer questions from the immigrant community and clarify what resources and relief are available to immigrants in Michigan, through the MDHHS, regardless of immigration status.
If you know of any other people or groups who might be interested in attending please let me know and share the zoom registration link.
The town hall will then be translated into Spanish and other common immigrant languages. The recording will then be distributed over social media.
I hope you guys can attend and let me know if your organization would like to co-sponsor the call or can help with translation.

Today is the day the Supreme Court will be hearing arguments on DACA. Recipients of the program have come from as far as California, Nebraska, Michigan, Alabama, and more to be a part of this moment. But regardless of what happens, we will continue to stay in this fight to win our rights. ✊
