This afternoon our third graders took us on a journey through the history of Grand Rapids! Recently they spent a week at the Grand Rapids Public Museum with the Immerse Program and learned about what made Grand Rapids what it is today. Today our community got to learn about the first people of this place, early trade and settlement, the founding of our city, modern history, and the things that make Grand Rapids special. We ❤️ Grand Rapids!

Recently our preschoolers got to try gyotaku — painting with a fish! Gyotaku is a traditional Japanese art form that was used in 1800's for fisherman to document their catch. Thank you, Mrs. Wiegers, for bringing beautiful and unique projects to your classroom! 🐟

On Thursday we took over 200 students to Camp Roger for the day! Camp Roger staff led multiple activities for each class. A highlight for 6th grade was that they got to try the zipline! While some students had done this before, for many it was their first time. What a joy to watch them conquer nerves and fears while hearing encouraging cheers from their classmates!

On Wednesday our 6th graders led us in worship as we remembered Jesus' sacrifice for us on the cross. Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sin and the brokenness in our world. May you and our entire community experience deep hope this weekend as we anticipate the Resurrection of Christ.

You can feel the warmth of the sun on a cool day. You can hear students playing at recess and the birds chirping. You can see daffodils blowing in the breeze. There is so much to be grateful for. Spring is here!
