Coalition Of Preventative Educators -Lets get this moving! Our teens (and anyone) that needs support, needs to know there are choices. There are regular people that care. There are people that will listen, but will not judge them. There are people that care, even when we may not know them. There are people that will stand with them when they need a hand out of whatever problem they are facing.
We advocate on behalf of bullied children, young adults and their families. Our mission is to provide education and support to parents, educators, children and the community at large in order to promote a harassment free society.
We believe all children deserve protection from harassment, abuse and ridicule. Not just certain protected classes, but all children, regardless of race, color, creed or sexual orientation. We believe bullying, ridicule and physical harm are perpetrated primarily on the peace loving children who are reluctant to fight back. Yet these are the very children being targeted on the school grounds today. At COPE, we are committed to turning this dynamic around, to preserve our children's happiness so that they can learn, grow and thrive uninterrupted by hatred in order to find their own voices of personal fulfillment.
COPE's goal is to work with school authorities, families and victims of bullying to bring about peaceful resolution. COPE engages in media campaigns with the mass media in order to educate and create awareness in our community, as well as giving the children of our community choices, coping skills, and the knowledge that they are not alone and there is hope.
