Vendor Spotlight: One of our kid makers - Builder Bros Games!
Builder Bros Games was created by a pair of fourth graders who turned a simple playdate idea into a real board game business. What started as boredom during a chess game quickly became a creative challenge, as they began reimagining the pieces and inventing new rules for a brand new strategy game.
That idea evolved into Battle of the Kings, a strategy-based board game where players act as commanders of an army, working to capture their opponent’s king while protecting their own.
What makes Builder Bros Games stand out is their originality and drive at such a young age. They have sold around 60 copies in just six months and were awarded “Most Original Business Idea” at the Grand Rapids Children’s Business Fair in September 2025, their first craft show experience.
Come see them at our Fourth Annual Market at John Ball Zoo THIS Saturday, May 30th from 9 AM to 4 PM at John Ball Zoo, located at 1300 Fulton St W, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Shop 100+ local makers, enjoy live music and food trucks, and experience this FREE community event located right at the Fulton Street Parking Lot entrance.
