Hi.

Life has been “lifeing” and I am late on putting up content. The exciting part is that I will be appearing live with my friend Denise Taylor in her “Embrace Your Power” Community on Facebook. Please join us tonight at 7:30 pm EST if you can or catch the replay. Here is more information from Denise:

We flex on WEDNESDAYS. Powerful Moments on Winning Wednesday is a time where we hear overcomers share their story.

TODAY I am excited to welcome Cherai Lewis, who is helping us win at corporate play. Office politics can be quite obscure and overwhelming. Cherai picked herself up after a few corporate blows & struggles. She turned those lessons into mission as she now serves and helps us learn how to play the game and navigated better. Be sure to join us LIVE in Embrace Your Power.

*Long & Fun post alert!!

This time next week, I will have received the 2021 Robert J. Donovan Award from the Greater Midwest Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (GMC PCMA). https://greatermidwest.pcma.org/awards/

It’s been over 2 months and I am still blown away by this honor. I was finally able to put my thoughts into words here: https://greatermidwest.pcma.org/chapter-news/award-winner-spotlight/

Please consider this your personal invitation from me to join us at this celebration. It’s Wednesday, March 16th at 2:00 pm at the Fairmont Chicago. We will be face-to-face! Here’s the link to register: https://greatermidwest.pcma.org/event/annual-awards-celebration/

Many of you have advised that attending in person is just not an option. 😕 Trust me, I get it.

And so does my Soror Bestie .

In fact, she is concocting a way to celebrate with me from across the miles. (😳)

And..... Eugenia said that if anyone wants to join in on her plan (😳), send her a DM and she'll give you the deets.

My only request: PLEASE let your girl know if I need to wear waterproof mascara after you get the good deets. The raccoon look is just not cute look on me! I would be MOST appreciative.

Just wanted to say a quick “Welcome” to new friends I met today as well as so many of you that rolled through before my “official” launch. I look forward to our conversations!

12 New Rules for Virtual Meetings, Since We’re Still In a Pandemic 01/25/2022

The Office Politics of Virtual Team Meetings! Who knew there was such a thing?!

Sitting in a meeting today with my non-profit client. I shared with the meeting organizer (and the 4 people currently logged in) that I was going on no-video and mute as I was finishing up lunch. My comment then prompted a team discussion around current virtual staff meeting etiquette, inspired by this recent post from the blog Nonprofit AF.

#5, #8 and #12 stand out to me the most. What stands out on this list for you?

(P.S.) I am now a fan of Nonprofit AF. Go check then out!

Hello OP Playbook Friends. It has been a moment between my last post and today! Let’s just say 2021 had its highs and lows. This is one of the highs! And believe me - the office politics strategies I have learned helped me get here. I promise to do a live “formal” intro and what’s next for the OP Playbook very soon! Cheers and Happy New Year!

Wow. Just Wow. Thank you for this honor.

My coach always reminds us “You never know who is in a position to bless you.”
PCMA Greater Midwest Chapter, you have blessed me upon measure for simply being me - doing what I do, serving and empowering my peeps to be great.

I am speechless.
And for those that know me, they are wondering if a certain place is freezing over upon hearing me say that I am speechless. 🤣😂

No politics right now; just love and appreciation.

Our last in-person training session for a minute! 😢😳😢

- you are my BFF that also happens to be my trainer. And my encourager, pseudo-therapist, design consultant, my “we’ll figure it out” answer man and just solid “always there when I need you” person.

While I will miss our twice weekly meet-ups (work out plus chit chat plus compare crazy weekend stories plus advice sessions when we would talk politics on all scales), I am looking forward to this next “virtual” phase of our workouts.

The Trainer title came first - The BFF role is for life. ❤️ 🫂

Politics is about position and power; and where the two intersect. Physical location can affect your political power.

Today was the last day of our IN PERSON walks with for the time being!😱😕 No major animal sightings (or surprises) today; just me and getting our heart rate up putting one foot in front of the other. And talking through our lives as we have done for the past 15 months together.

While there is NOTHING like face-to-face walking, I am looking forward to how we will continue our morning walking escapades!!! Because one thing about friendships is that MOST of them can overcome any political dynamic changes. We are both determined not to let a change in the political dynamics of location mess up a good routine, a flourishing friendship and

Because yes; We have successfully moved from Cordial Colleagues to Flourishing Friends! And sometimes Therapists for each other. I am NOT letting that go easily or quietly into the good night.

And so for our social media friends who follow our escapades, stay tuned as we figure out the next iteration!!!

OAN, Check out our pace though! We were moving!!!!

Wild Kingdom today!!! The geese seem to have moved from the Nature Park. That means the balance of power has changed; giving dominion of the space to the rabbits and the ducks. And they were holding sway. Swipe 👈🏽⬅️👈🏽 to see the 🦆 posse coming to greet us. Or run us off their land!!!!
