In this clip we see Timberwolves guard Anthony Edward’s preparing his body for playoff competition. Early off-season is all about building up athletic qualities. During the season it’s all about recovery, maintaining strength, speed & explosiveness while managing fatigue.

If you spend all off season getting right, why would you just stop training during the season and lose those qualities you developed? That’s what most team sport coaches and youth athletes don’t understand. Competition and skill work doesn’t maintain athletic qualities, it actually diminishes them. The training you do in-season is crucial, and the intensity and volume you do it at matters. That’s why you can’t be guessing and following whatever you see on social media.
