Walnut DC Diplomats

A few of our Diplomats spent some time this afternoon helping get the Stolley house cleaned up for visitors. A big part of what we do is learning how to get involved in our community.

These Diplomats are an important part of our Grand Island community. What an awesome afternoon, celebrating the hard work that these young people put in to improving Kids’ Kingdom. Many hours before and after school went into this service to our community. Hopefully, these will last 23 more years, like the last ones. What a fun project with our parks department and AOK Ladies.

Our Diplomats are happy to be able to positively contribute to our community. Diplomats have put in many hours both before and after school to create 10 beautiful murals for Kids' Kingdom. It's awesome for us to get to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.

On the road home. We should be there about 3:30.

What a trip!

We ended our time in DC with a Lincoln Leadership session at Ford’s Theatre. We focused on what Lincoln believed are the 5 keys of leadership: Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration, Perseverance & Motivation.
I can confidently say that these are the traits that we see in these Diplomats everyday. What an amazing group of young people.
We also got a pretty special view of the theatre after lunch.

Day 3
It was a perfect day for a battlefield tour. We spent the day at Gettysburg, and returned home for a night of fun at the theater.

Day 2 was another great one We started out with some heavy stops, and lightened up in the afternoon

Laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns is always the highlight of the trip. These four young people represented us well in honoring our fallen unknowns. An experience of a lifetime.
