Battle on the Boardwalk Join us for an outstanding two-day volleyball event that brings together the community and area schools. Last year our attendance exceeded 2,000! Thank you!

Friday, Aug. 29 - Girls Scrimmages
Thursday, Aug. 28 - Adult 4s Competition & Boys Open Gym Over the past four years we have had over 400 athletes participate in the FREE Middle School Volleyball Camp. This year all 3 levels of high school teams (Freshman, JV, & Varsity) will compete on two temporary courts at Waterfront Stad

ium! Summer in downtown Grand Haven, Waterfront Stadium and four great volleyball traditions come together to make the Battle on the Boardwalk a huge success!!! This would not be possible without the support of the city, our school administration and our sponsors! Due to the success of the Battle on the Boardwalk, we have been able to:

• Award a $500 Scholarship to a graduating senior each of the past three years!

• Cover the costs of the nets and courts – which alone cost $3000 to rent.

• Fund our Middle School B Volleyball teams. 24 additional athletes played volleyball in 7th and 8th grade each year because of this event!

• Cover additional costs associated with our program.

What a day! A look back at our 13th annual Battle on the Boardwalk at Lynn Sherwood Waterfront Stadium in downtown Grand Haven last week - thank you to every player, coach, referee, volunteer, sponsor and fan who made it possible.

Big shoutout to Gibson Knights for keeping the energy high between matches with his incredible live music. Another shoutout to Potato Head food truck owned/operated by local Grand Haven students, and Arturos Tacos for helping to feed our hungry crowd.

What a beautiful day for the 13th annual Battle on the Boardwalk in downtown Grand Haven! Thank you to all who came out to Waterfront Stadium today! We hope you had fun watching Fruitport, Grand Haven, Mona Shores and Spring Lake volleyball teams play in one of the best outdoor volleyball venues! Also thank you to our volunteers and sponsors! We couldn’t put on this amazing event without you! See you in 2026!

🎉The courts are set and ready for Battle on the Boardwalk events later today at Waterfront Stadium in downtown Grand Haven! We even had a beautiful rainbow surprise during set up this morning! 🌈

🎉ALMOST GO TIME! The 13th annual Battle on the Boardwalk kicks off Thursday, Aug. 28, with high school boys volleyball open gym from 3-4:30 p.m. and the Adult 4’s competition at 5 p.m.! Boys open gym is open to ALL high school boys volleyball players! So come on out and have some fun! Here’s a look back at some fun moments of area boys at our open gyms in recent years!

It’s the final countdown! The 13th annual Battle on the Boardwalk is in 1️⃣week: Aug 28-29 at Grand Haven’s Waterfront Stadium! Only 2️⃣ weeks until the 13th annual Battle on the Boardwalk takes over Waterfront Stadium in downtown Grand Haven on Aug. 28-29! Did you know this free community event helps fund Grand Haven Volleyball's Boys teams? In 2025, GH Boys Varsity Volleyball captured its 5th consecutive Conference Championship, held the D1 #1 and #2 ranking throughout the entire season, and were Region 1 Champs and the D1 State Runner-Up with a 47-5 record!
