Career Impact Academy

With school out for the summer, we are hosting Summer VEX Camps. The kids had a blast this week with the Intro to Coding camp. The last hour, parents were invited in to see what they have been working on. Next week is the Advanced Coding camp! Thank you Randy Votava for taking the lead!

Enjoyed a special visitor today to the Career Impact Academy as Pat Bertagnolli stopped by to visit.

Mr. Bertagnolli is the Executive Director for Job Service North Dakota, and a passionate leader in promoting workforce awareness and opportunities for youth across the state to retain our future workforce with ND.

Pat is retiring at the end of June, and appreciate his years of leadership, service, and advocacy for the importance of CTE and CTE centers like the Career Impact Academy.

Medical Careers finished their classes! Students completed this year many outreach projects in the community and 9 weeks of clinical rotations seeing different careers, some surgeries, and even births! Block 1 finished with a HOSA activity in remembrance of a special Altru employee.

Grand Forks students honor ‘Very Important Teachers’ in career and technical education programs Grand Forks Central and Red River high schoolers selected those who had a significant impact on their lives. These individuals were recognized in National Technical Honor Society ceremonies.

Congratulations to Keith Lund (President & CEO) and Becca Cruger (Director of Economic Development) of the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation on being inducted as Honorary Members of the National Technical Honor Society. Selection of honorary members is reserved for individuals or entities that have contributed significantly to the growth and success of CTE within the Grand Forks Public Schools.

Keith and Becca were chosen based on their instrumental efforts in the planning, fundraising, and development of the Career Impact Academy, along with continued support for CTE initiatives within the district including the Northern Valley Career Expo, expansion of Work-Based Learning, and serving on program advisory committees.

Rylan is one of our Engineering students. Congrats and best of luck at UND next year! We may know some teachers if you need any help 😉
