Last Wednesday, we officially welcomed 11 new students into our AVID family for next year’s 10th and 11th grade classes, and we could not be more excited for what’s ahead! 🎉

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the families, teachers, friends, and classmates who came out to support our students. The turnout was amazing, and it meant so much to see our future AVID students surrounded by people cheering them on as they committed to their academic and future goals.

We are also so proud of our current AVID students, who led the program and did a fantastic job speaking, organizing, and representing what AVID is all about.

Congratulations to our newest AVID students — we can’t wait to see what you accomplish! 💙💛

Our GFC 10th grade AVID students had an awesome opportunity to tour the brand new Altru Hospital here in Grand Forks yesterday! 🏥🩻🩺

Our students learned about a wide variety of careers in the medical field — not only doctors and nurses, but also the many essential support roles that help hospitals run every day. They also heard about opportunities available to them right now, including job shadowing, Scrubs Camp, and internships that can help them explore future career paths.

A huge thank you to the Altru Health System team for giving our students a firsthand look at the possibilities waiting for them in healthcare and beyond!

🏫 Valley Middle School’s 7th grade AVID Elective class toured Northland Community & Technical College yesterday!

💡 Students got to see and experience the many different hands on experiences college students get to take part in as they checked out all that this technical college in our backyard has to offer.

🙌🏻 We are so grateful for our local partnerships and the opportunities our AVID students get to take part in!

Our 9th grade GFC AVID students had an incredible day at North Dakota State University in Fargo! 🦬

They explored campus on a guided tour, spoke from a student panel, and got a firsthand look at college life. One of the highlights was visiting the Communications Department, where students interacted with current communications students and even recorded their own news broadcast!

We wrapped up the day with a great lunch and lots of excitement about future possibilities. Big thanks to NDSU for a fantastic experience—Go Bison! 💚💛

🏫 Valley Middle School’s 6th grade AVID students had the opportunity to tour Grand Forks Public Schools Career Impact Academy yesterday!

Students loved seeing the variety of CTE options available to them in high school and asked great questions!

🌟 From culinary arts to medical careers with a few drones sprinkled in between- students were eager to see those of hands-on learning they could someday take part in. AVID

Our 8th grade AVID elective students had a great day touring Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Moorhead! We learned so much about the trades and explored the many opportunities this campus has to offer.

A huge thank you to the M State - Moorhead Campus staff for their warm hospitality—and for the pizza! Our students left feeling inspired and excited about their futures.

Our AE 11 students had the opportunity to tour Mayville State University last week, and it was an incredible experience! Mayville was a wonderful host, and our students especially enjoyed hearing directly from MSU President, Dr. Van Horn—such a unique and exciting opportunity.

We’re grateful for the warm welcome and the chance for our students to explore their future possibilities!

Our AE 10 students had a fantastic visit to the University of North Dakota School of Law today! The tour was engaging, and our students impressed everyone with their thoughtful, high-level questions.
