“Without her”- this writing came though in my Mindful Grieving Yoga Therapy Teacher Training this weekend inside our shared practice with .stern.7

“Without her”-

This photo was taken in our family kitchen with my mom. Many many years ago when she was still healthy…vibrant. It was Christmas 🎄time just after my nephew was born. He is 24 now.

My sister Laura added this photo into the slideshow our family shared at mom’s visitation. When I saw it I cried out louder than I ever had before. I wailed for my mom. It brought me to my knees. I retreated to the back of the funeral home and curled up into a ball. The only one that could console me in that moment was mom. She placed her hand on my back and said “baby, it’s okay, it’s time to remember me in this way…healthy, strong and dancing with you in the kitchen. In our happiest of places. Together forever. 🤍
The grief is overwhelming and comes in waves…one moment I’m okay and the next I can’t breathe…I find myself holding my breath and the tenderness sets in…
I don’t want to do this without her.
I don’t want to write our book without her
I don’t want to have Christmas without her 🎄
I don’t want to step into this new love and new life without her
You see, every joy, pain, milestone I have ever had, included her, was WITH her and how I have no choice than to do it all without her.
The depth of the pain I am experiencing inside this acute grief is unbearable. My heart hurts. It just hurts.

Yolanda Serae (Crawley) Price
 
Yolanda Serae, the first child of Eleanor and Louis Crawley, was born on April 27, 1957, at the Guthrie County Hospital in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She lived with her parents in Wichita, Iowa until they moved to Omaha, NE, when she was three. Her father called her “Lonnie” from the day she was born.
Lonnie attended Omaha Public Schools until May of 1971 when she moved to Bayard, Iowa, to live with her grandparents, Loyd and Edith Crawley. She graduated from Bayard High School in 1975 and was a member of the Bayard Rainbow Assembly.
She married Ronald Lauridsen in 1975 and they made their home in Audubon, Iowa, as well as operated Ron’s Auto Body until their divorce in 1990. Ron and Lonnie had two daughters: Laura Lee and Angela Kaye. She was named outstanding Jaycee Ette Rookie President in class AA in June 1979 and served as District Director. Lonnie was installed as Worthy Matron of the Audubon Chapter Order of the Eastern Star on January 2, 1983.
On June 29, 1991, Lonnie married Benjamin Franklin Price Jr. in the historic Methodist Church in Bellevue, NE. On the day they met, Ben told his best friend, “I met the woman I am going to marry.” Lonnie and Ben made their home in Bellevue.  Lonnie worked as a settlement clerk for AGP Grain Cooperative from 1991-1994 and then began a career as an Import Buyer for Marianna Industries in 1995.

Stress! Stress! Stress! 📣📣📣I’m hearing from so many that the stress levels are through the roof this year. Especially inside our family relationships.

Maybe it is because of the vaccination debate.

Maybe it is because we forgot to love each other.

Maybe it is because we forgot the golden rule.
