Friday we celebrated an incredible group of leaders who have completed the Leadership TASB journey — a program designed to grow visionary leadership, strengthen statewide networks, champion advocacy, and drive real impact for Texas public schools.

Over the past year, these dedicated school board members have pushed boundaries, asked tough questions, and embraced challenges — all with one goal in mind: improving outcomes for every student in our public schools.

The Class of 2025 leaves this program not only with deeper insight, but with stronger bonds and a shared commitment to leading with purpose, courage, and heart. 💙📚

Here’s to the change-makers, bridge-builders, and fierce advocates for public education. Texas students are in great hands.

What an incredible privilege it was to visit these districts. I’m continually amazed by all the great things happening in Texas public schools.

We got to hear from student teachers and see PLC’s in action where all the behind the scenes action takes place to ensure we are delivering highly effective instruction.

This is also where the craft of teaching really shines. So much work and effort goes into teaching Texas’ children and our educators don’t get near enough credit.

But what stood out the most was the sense of pride all the students have in their school and their education. When we go all in for our kids, they go all in for themselves. When we take pride in their education, they take pride in their education. When we support our students and educators, kids win.

It starts with us. From the board room to the classroom 💜💛

🏀✨ All-STAR Advice from AES Alumni! ✨🏀 Success isn’t just about talent—it’s about dedication, discipline, and hard work. Ella Garner, a former Acton Elementary student and 2024 Granbury High School graduate, knows this firsthand. Now attending Texas A&M University, Ella has proven that perseverance leads to greatness. A standout student-athlete, Ella played varsity basketball all four years, leading the Lady Pirates to a UIL Bi-District Championship her senior year. She was a team captain, MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year while also excelling in track and field. Beyond athletics, Ella ranked 6th in her graduating class and was actively involved in leadership and community service. Her advice? "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard." She reminds us that effort and commitment often outshine natural ability. Success isn’t just about having talent—it’s about putting in the work every single day.
