The Granbury ISD Board of Trustees voted on Monday, August 21 at the regular scheduled meeting to call for a Voter Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) and a $151.7M Bond Election on the November 7 ballot. Early voting is October 23 - November 3.

This letter was in the letters to the editor in the Hood County News this weekend. To all who love GISD, I will fight for the good of our students, faculty, and tax payers. We have an important job to do and and anyone standing in the way of this will be opposed.

Good morning GISD! Last night was a great night for me and those who tirelessly supported my campaign. I want to first thank our team of candidates who worked so hard together to make this happen. Also, there were many who worked behind the scenes to make this happen as well and without you this win would not have been possible.
Now the work will soon begin to keep GISD moving forward in a positive manner. There are many issues to address now that the campaigning is over. I will do as I promised and give every child the opportunity to get a great education and an opportunity to become a productive citizen. We will balance this with our stressed economy and provide infrastructure that will provide the essentials and address taxpayer issues. Finally, we will continue to help teachers and all GISD personnel and make sure they have what they need for their families so that they can continue to provide their best to our students.
