I’m Sierra, owner of this whole shebang.
My story has always included horses somehow from the time I was born.
I have 20+ years of equine experience ranging everywhere from mounted search and rescue insights, barn management/therapeutic and EAL program development, training and teaching, and plenty in between.
I’ve been blessed enough to audit, assist with, and partake in many lessons, workshops, clinics and rides/camp outs, learning from and being mentored by some of the best there is.
I’m also self-taught by my own personal experience in a lot of aspects as well.
My greatest teachers have always been and will always be the horses themselves.

As a business, Twin Hearts is built around a partnership-based, true-horsemanship approach.
We strive to put you and your horse, your partnership, and both of your’s safety first!
We are very much rooted in the theory of seeing each horse and human as the individuals they are.
None of us are the same- none of us learn the exact same, think the exact same, or are the exact same.
The same goes for horses, too!
We believe understanding that, and providing guidance needed with that in mind based off the level you and your horse are at, is key to helping develop a better bond between horse and human.
To us, you and your horse are not “just another client”.
Method-wise, we are a little bit different.
Not fully positive reinforcement training, not fully pressure and release training, not even fully the cliche term of “natural” horsemanship training.
We’re somewhere in the middle, combining the best pieces of those plus some, to create a well-rounded ideology that is Twin Hearts Horsemanship.
We focus on horse psychology and physiology, human psychology and physiology, and the understanding behind the power of intention, mutual respect, body language, and the energy that comes with all three.
That level of patience and understanding is what builds a solid, safe foundation.
Our goal is simple- we want to help create a partnership between you and your horse where you truly feel like your two hearts have become one.
We take time to understand you and your horse so we can guide you in the best ways possible on your unique journey together!

From a feral little pony scared of the world to giving his very first beginner lesson—including a trail ride!

Remedy has grown by leaps and bounds since arriving last year, and I can't wait to see what else he accomplishes. He's reached the point where horse people would say he just needs "wet saddle pads"—more miles, more experiences, more traveling, and more opportunities to do his job. And he's going to get them.

This year hasn't gone according to plan, but that doesn't mean we stop moving forward. We'll adjust our goals, shift our expectations, and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Progress isn't defined by a perfect timeline—it's built through consistency, adaptability, and showing up day after day.

Here's to more miles, new experiences, and seeing just how far this little pony can go.

Following the sudden and tragic loss of their co-founder, Dan Horlander, Dark Horse Inclusion is navigating an incredibly difficult time. Their mission has always been to make horses accessible to youth and teens with learning disabilities and emotional needs through lessons, scholarships, show opportunities, and groundbreaking work within 4-H.

At a little over 12hh and only 8 weeks old, this c**t is a perfect example of why we start their education early!

Due to a traumatic birth, his owner wasn't able to begin handling as early as she'd hoped, so we've started building his foundation now. Our focus is simple: haltering and leading, backing, picking up his feet, and respecting personal space.

He's naturally independent and already knows how to use his size to avoid pressure. At 7 weeks old, that's manageable. As a two-year-old, it's dangerous.

Starting foals early isn't about taking away their chance to be babies. It's about teaching them how to safely live in a human world and giving them the best chance at a solid, safe future. Good manners, respect for pressure, and confidence make everyday handling, veterinary care, the farrier, and emergencies safer and less stressful.

A strong foundation starts at the beginning.

Training doesn't take days off! Whether it's hot, rainy, or freezing, there's always something to work on.

Today, Remedy put in some great arena work before finishing with a relaxing trail ride. His confidence is growing by leaps and bounds, and it's been incredible to watch his progress.
