For some of us, it's been 50 years. We need to firm up the headcount for some of our events bc it will change pricing. If you can't come, tell us in the comments. If you're planning to come, please say so. Even if it's for only part of the weekend. Let us know which parts so we can plan better and more effectively. Thanks.

A few more details; see below. Please share to any of our classmates you see missing from this fb page.

We have been diligently working on group discounts for lodging for any classmates who don't have extended family members still in the area.

Pls make your travel plans asap to get the best deals. The group rate Kathy (Kragh) McBride was able to arrange through a local Holiday Inn Embassy Suites was still pricey; min 2 night stay at $269-299 per night depending on size of room. One classmate reported booking at Microtel in Middletown ( near Rt 17 & I-84) at a substantially lower rate ( see below)

Here's that info:
"I just booked the Microtel in Middletown. $136/night. It was a 4+night special booking at least 40 days out.
Totally refundable 2 days before.
I did it directly on Wyndham site. Not sure how many they have at that price, but worth a look for anyone wanting to stay extra days."
FYI. Microtel is a no frills type of lodging but it's clean, next to Hampton and Marriott; also next to a great diner, Chili's and Outback. Besides, we plan to keep everybody busy having fun so it's really just a place to sleep and change clothes. 😎

Don't forget to check AARP discounts, Priceline, Expedia or any of the other discount options you may have in your wallet you've forgotten about.

Today is July 1st; our 50th is getting very real. Please make every effort to join us for all or even part of the festivities.

Before the end of the week I'll put up an actual RSVP link ( as soon as I figure out how😎) In the meantime, please comment so we have an idea of numbers. Your attendance just might be the right encouragement for classmates who are afraid of coming to the 50th bc they haven't made it to any others. There are no admissions requirements, no one is a better alumni. Whatever cliques we had in high school are long forgotten. We all have one thing in common; we all survived our years in Goshen and we all received a pretty good foundation for our careers and to be good human beings. Compared to what high schoolers today go through, we had an amazing place to grow up. Each and every one of us share that and the committee looks forward to seeing everyone and catching up on where you've been and what you've been doing since we left high school.

If you know of someone not on Facebook, please copy this flyer and text or email them. There's even still time to send by carrier pidgeon if that's what it takes.

Hope to see you all soon.

Btw we still need some classmates to step up.
Specifically for someone to

1)Put together a video montage of pics submitted by classmates
2) work on the Sat night party itinerary
( trivia games, contests, etc)
3) anyone who can come early Saturday night to help decorate
4) anyone interested in coordinating a shopping excursion or golf or any other optional group activity for a few hrs on Saturday afternoon
5) open: if you're willing to lend a hand, we'll find a job for you whether you're local to Goshen/Orange Cty or need to help remotely. Just let us know.

Thanks,

Many have been asking about when our 50th reunion would happen. Well, we have a date and are in the process of nailing down events, comparing locations and trying to whittle down the prices for each part of the weekend.

Here are the basics so that you can fit the weekend into your fall plans.

As many of you have heard elsewhere on FB, the Goshen Varsity Football Team from 1972 ( our classmates were juniors on that team) has been inducted into the Goshen High Athletic Hall of Fame. The official recognition of that honor will take place Friday,
Sept 6th just prior to the Varsity Football game " under the lights."
You heard correctly; Goshen has joined most of the other schools in Orange County in having the ability to play at night. With the renovation of the track and fields at the high school a few years ago, the teams now play at the Gladiator Coliseum, a far cry from our bleachers back in the day. At roughly 6:30pm the team will be recognized as will cheerleaders, band members, twirlers and drill team along with anyone else. By the time the program is finalized it seems that the school would like to make it an annual event to focus on one of the first games of the season to recognize all Goshen alumni as a true Homecoming weekend. More on that later.
About half way through the game, those not interested in more than an hour on cold metal benches, we will be hosting a mixer/ meet & greet at one of the local pubs in the village.

Our main event, the traditional Saturday night dinner will be held on, well on Saturday night😎.
We are exploring the logistics of making a number of Saturday activities available for anyone who so desires. Goshen as well as Orange County has grown considerably in the last 50 years.
So far, we're putting together info on

Shopping
Golfing
Tours of both " our" high school, CJH Middle School as well as the Goshen High School.
Bowling
Winery tours
Local breweries that offer the best of the craft beers in our area along w/live entertainment

If anyone has a specific idea about something they'd like to do; we will dig out the information and post it on this page.

On departure day, we're hoping to schedule a Sunday brunch before we all go our separate ways again.

We are hoping this will be our biggest and best reunion yet but we are going to needs lots of help. Many jobs can be handled remotely so don't worry about where you live.

By next week we hope to have gotten prices from the local hotels w/group discounts as well as pricing on our dining events.

In the meantime, we've sent out over 60 invites to this page. Some of you probably realize you didn't graduate with the Class of 1974.....but you're the sibling of someone who was. Please pass on the info to them AND reach out to us with our classmate's email/cell number so we can badger them about joining us and you won't have to.

Thanks for reading.
Here's to the Class of '74!
