The answer is no — Orton-Gillingham is not a boxed curriculum or one-size-fits-all program. It is a structured, diagnostic, prescriptive, multisensory approach to reading instruction.

📖While OG-based programs can be very helpful and are often built on strong reading principles, they are not the same as working with a trained Orton-Gillingham practitioner. True OG instruction is responsive to the student in front of us. Lessons are adjusted based on data, progress, errors, and individual learning needs.

At Roots 4 Learning, we believe struggling readers deserve instruction that is explicit, systematic, and individualized — not just a script.
