Mr. Davino’s 2nd graders put their survival skills to the test! 🧭🌾 During the Hunt, Fish, Forage Challenge, students relied on their memory and teamwork to find enough food on the prairie to help their wagon company survive. 🦌🎣🌿 Along the way, they practiced critical thinking, a growth mindset, and a little pioneer ingenuity!🃏💡

An engineering design challenge inspired by one of our favorite Storytime STEM characters, Iggy Peck, Architect! 🏗️📚 Students in Ms. Raley’s 1st grade class used creativity, communication, and perseverance to design and build a bridge that would get their tiny travelers safely to the other side!🌉💡

🌾 Welcome to the prairie, pioneers! Day 1 of The Great Prairie STEM Adventure put Mrs. Bair’s 5th graders to work with the Homestead Challenge!

First, teams completed a Material Math Dash to determine and collect the supplies their wagon company needed. Then, after visiting Mrs. Nord at The Trading Post, they designed, built, and tested shelters strong enough to survive a prairie storm! 🏕️💨🔨

Dash RoboCup continues into week 2 with new teams, fresh ideas, and lots of creativity! With only 4 days left in the school year, Harmony Huskies across every grade level are continuing to build, test, and compete while showing off their teamwork, problem-solving, and engineering skills. 🤖🏆⚽

⚽🤖 The first-ever Dash RoboCup is officially underway for Harmony Huskies!

Think FIFA World Cup… but with Dash robots! 🌎🏆 Over the past week, students across every grade level in STEM class worked together to bring this tournament to life:

🏳️ Kindergarten – designing country flags
🥅 1st Grade – overseeing the goals
⚽ 2nd Grade – creating the field lines
🚧 3rd Grade – building obstacles
📋 4th Grade – organizing brackets, scoreboards, and rules
🔧 5th Grade – field assembly and robot testing

Each STEM class contributed an important piece of the tournament while building creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and engineering skills along the way.

📖 💡 🌈 Inspired by The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson, this STEM challenge invited students in Ms. Waller’s, Mr. Davino’s, and Mrs. Pethtel’s classes to design a Coat of Arms and build a display stand that represents who they are. Through creativity and self-reflection, students celebrated their unique identities while discovering connections with others. 📖 💡 🌈

After unscrambling their learning target, students in Mrs. Watkins’ and Mrs. Vaughn’s classes programmed a micro:bit to play rock, paper, scissors with a friend! 🎮✊📄✂️
