Amazing things are happening in our little community 🩷

🎉 A great day for North Country children, families & partnerships!

We are incredibly grateful to CMF Kids, with support from Crotched Mountain Foundation, for investing in two important efforts that will strengthen opportunities for young children and families across the North Country!

💛 Kelly Dussault, Executive Director of the Coös Coalition for Young Children & Families, was honored to accept a $3,000 partnership award from Melissa White, Executive Director of CMF Kids, to support our Developmental Peer Play Group for Young Children and Families, Mommy & Me Occupational Therapy Group and expansion of peer to peer supports.
This investment will help create inclusive opportunities for young children and their families to connect, play, learn about development, and build relationships with one another, while expanding opportunities for children with disabilities.
And the investment in our region didn’t stop there!

💙 Our Coalition partner North Country Education Services (NCES), represented by Executive Director Chuck Patterson, also received a $5,000 award from CMF Kids Foundation to help us scale our ASQ Online developmental screening work into public SAUs during the 2026–27 school year.
Together, these investments represent what we value so deeply in the North Country: strong partnerships, early support, inclusion, and meeting children and families where they are.

We are just 10 days away from our 8th Annual FREE Community Baby Shower in Berlin!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and the overwhelming support we've received, we've outgrown our original location and are excited to announce that this year's event will be held at Service Credit Union Heritage Park in Berlin!

Everyone is welcome! There are no income requirements, no eligibility guidelines, and no registration needed. If you're expecting a baby, have an infant or young child, are a parent, grandparent, foster parent, kinship caregiver, or simply caring for a little one, we would love to see you there.

Know someone who is pregnant or has a little one at home? Bring them along or share this post! The more families we can reach, the better.

Families can enjoy:

You can't skip the foundation and expect the structure to stand.

Play, movement, relationships, and exploration aren't distractions from learning. They're the experiences that build the brain, body, and skills that make later learning (including academics) possible.

That sequence is not optional. It's not outdated. And it's not negotiable.
