Yes to all of this! 🙌
It’s ok (and necessary) to slow down, step away, and get back to basics. Putting down the devices/technology and allowing ourselves to simply be present with others, to spend time in nature, to laugh more, work less, eat healthy food, drink more water, go for walks and get exercise, are really the most important things we can do for our mental (and physical) health. It’s small, simple steps, and not big scary changes, that can make the biggest difference.
We are living in a world of constant stimulation, information and noise. Our minds and nervous systems were never designed to process this level of bombardment every single day.
We absorb endless opinions, bad or harrowing news, outrage, pressure, comparison and fear often before we’ve even finished our morning coffee. No wonder so many of us feel exhausted, anxious, disconnected or overwhelmed.
It’s easy to want to bury yourself in more distraction, but the reality is that we need meaningful moments. Moments that reset the nervous system and restore our mind, body and spirit. We need quiet pauses…in nature, in laughter, in real conversations. In rest that isn’t interrupted by notifications.
You need space to breathe.
