We are a community volunteer group made up of Wayne Community college students. Our main objective is to aid local strays April Kennedy. Kennedy and Mrs. Mrs.
Our group, the Wonder Paws, has decided to help the animals in our community. We are planning to work with the Wayne County Animal Shelter* and Diamonds In The Ruff Canine Rescue**. We hope to aid the stray animal community in various forms including: bake sales, collection boxes/jars, a car wash, and educational lectures/surveys. We are acting in response to a group service project assigned to us
in our Communications class with Mrs. We will comply to Wayne Community College's behavioral standards for the duration of this project. We have confirmation of our group both by Mrs. Tara Humphries. Humphries is WCC's Public Communications Officer.
*Wayne County Animal Shelter is our local shelter, and is generally the end-of-the-line spot for animals dropped off by either animal control or by owners who cannot keep their pets. While they are a High-kill center, they still have some needs that will make the animals' stay there a bit more comfortable.
**DITR is a state recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization that rescues dogs from the Wayne County Animal Shelter and fosters them until they find their forever homes.
