GRANTHAM MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC AWARDS NIGHT: 5-21-26

Thursday night was truly a night to remember for our coaches and student-athletes! Grantham Middle School SCORED BIG this year, earning numerous accolades and celebrating several historic firsts.

First and foremost, we would like to say “THANK YOU” to all of our coaches who poured their hearts, time, and dedication into our Bulldogs this year. Your commitment WAS IMPACTFUL on our athletes and school community.

To our student-athletes — JOB WELL DONE! Thank you for competing with pride, determination, and sportsmanship every time you stepped onto the field or court while representing Bulldog Country.

We would also like to recognize some of our major award winners from the evening:

Here’s our newest retiree of them all!

Mrs. Connie Rouse, GRM's 6th Grade ELA teacher, has dedicated twenty years of service to WCPS and also served students in England through the Department of Defense schools. Her commitment and care have made a lasting impact on the many lives she touched throughout her career.

As retirement begins, may this new chapter bring opportunities to relax, travel, spend time with your beautiful grandchildren, and enjoy the moments that matter most. Wishing you happiness, good health, and many wonderful memories in the years ahead. Although your Grantham Middle School family will miss you, we wish you endless happiness in this exciting new chapter of life!

Coach Wingate is one of the pillars of Grantham Middle School. He began his career at Grantham School in the elementary setting before transitioning to Grantham Middle School, where he continues to make a HUGE impact on students, staff, and the community. Combined, he has dedicated 29.5 years of service to the Grantham community- a legacy of commitment, leadership, and care for generations of students and families.

Coach Wingate coaches several teams at GRM and serves as co-athletic director, helping to ensure that all athletic programs run smoothly and successfully. He is definitely someone who is committed to ensuring that our student-athletes are both academically and athletically sound.
